Sunday 20 August - LTU Arena, Dusseldorf

From AMnjd:
I went to her concert in Düsseldorf. We were waiting to get in, but the authorities did not start on time, so we were waiting 45 minutes in a strong and heavy rainstorm. It was freazing cold and the atmospehere changed into a very bad and agressive mood.
Finally we ran to the entrance and we saw Madge still doing her soundcheck. In the beginning nobody realised that she is already there cause we were so busy to get a good place and mainly to get dry and warm again. As well she was very concentrated and ignored us as well.
Than started a very boring time cause for 1.45 min nothing happend until Paul Oakenfold appeared. Well, it was nice but not that crazy and worth it.
At 9.15 p.m the show began and the audience went crazy. Madonna had a few German words prepared and we were happy to hear those words.
I was not sure, if she had a good time. People went crazy especially for Ray Of Light and Hung Up, I saw 45.000 people jumping and screaming.
During Live To Tell, you could feel the concentration but people felt quite good with the song and it's intention.
She tried to get in contact with the crowd but I guess people did not speak enough English to understand her and she made some funny jokes about it.
I still adore her and love her shows and I am ready to confess one more time in Amsterdam.

From Cedric:
I went to the LTU-arena last night and it was spectacular. I was with the first twenty fans to get into the golden circle, so we stood on the front row in the middle of the catwalk. The setup of the stage was similar to Cardiff.
First of all, I want to thank Yvonne and Mark for being great company throughout the day and the show. And thank you to the German guy who brought that green sail we hid under during the showers of rain.
We were surprized to see and hear that Madonna was in the middle of rehearsals. 'It's a privilige for you to witness a rehearsal with me, but I need you to be quiet, okay?' Some fans weren't too successful at being quiet. Sang 'Erotica' and 'Future Lovers'. She also ran through a couple of routines with the choreographer.
The show was perfect. After 'Future Lovers', she immediately started smiling and talking and cheering us on. She made eye contact with the crowd thoughout the whole show, including me. She looked looked like she was having a great time.
At one point she gave everyone the finger and one of the fans gave one back. She noticed and started swearing 'Well, fuck you too....motherfucker' or something....but she was laughing all the time. She also said that we could 'Suck George Bush's dick', then the crowd went wild.
I'm looking forward to seeing her again in Amsterdam.

From Didier:
I just come back from Düsseldorf, where I saw this amazing show! No word can describe how it was....I was in front of the stage....And because Madonna had some problem with the German cops (sorry, but I don't know the all story about this), she came late for the rehearsal....
We were at 6 PM in the arena, and when could see Madonna and her dancers doing a rehearsal for 'Future Lovers'. All the crowd went crazy, and Madonna said: 'Guys, the show hasn't begin. We had some problems and now we have to do it now, so please SHUT UP!'....Was really cool....
During the show, she explained that she didn't speak German, so she hopes we understand English, and then she went on her knees and ask to someone in the crowd, really slowly: 'Do you speak english?'

From Jean-Baptiste:
How an amazing show! She looked sexier than ever. And what can I say about her dancers and her stage? So extraordinary!
But for once, something rare happened: when we came in the LTU Arena around 6 p.m, Madonna was standing there, without any make-up or wardrobe, rehearsing! Of course, when we saw her, we started applauding her, but she asked us (very politely) to be quiet (several times in fact): 'I said be quiet please, this is very technical, this is not the show. Thank you' she said, point her sparkling ridng crop at us!
Then she explained that there was a problem with local police and that's why the rehearsals were late. So, we listened to 'Future lovers' and 'Get together' two hours before the beginning! HUGE!
Can't wait for tomorrow in Hanover, to see her again.

From Ken:
Went to Dusseldorf today and what an amazing evening! We went to the arena at 14.00h and stood in the sunshine and in the rain until 18.00h , they let us finally in after a run to the mainfloor you never could imagine what happened to us! We came in and the mirrorball was down and open and nobody else than the Queen herself was on the end of the catwalk; no make up, but looking not happy!
Of course we couldn't believe our eyes! She spoke to the audience; I had a terrible fight with the police all day so I didn't had time to do my rehearsals, so I am going to do that now so I am not happy that you are already here so consider it as a huge privilege and I appreciate your silence! So Future Lovers began and Get Together! Everybody was amazed seeing this! Between the two songs she shouted; shut up and thank you for your silence!
After the two songs the whole crew had to do a lot off things on the stage so there must have been something very wrong that afternoon! Paul Oakenfold did a DJ set for an hour and was really good! Miss M herself came on at 21.15h! The show was flawless and the best I have seen from here! Sound was amazing in the arena and she said a lot of fuck you's, but despite her bad mood during the rehearsal, she smiled a lot during the show!
Thank you QUEEN for the privilege I have witnessed tonight!

From Kirsten:
After an easy arrival at 20:00, a wait until 21:10, then M started....
It was a PIECE OF ART, a show, which rocked the LTU ARENA: it was amazing, watching her and her great dancers.
No low point at all, and I loved to hear Drowned World again. She talked to us about 'Duzzeldorf' and asked us: 'Do you speak english?'
It was a perfect show and a great evening :-) I still can't believe I was there....

From Olga:
'Are you ready? I said, are you ready?' screamed Madonna at the beginning of the show. And than a little bit later. 'Willkommen, meine Damen und Herren!' (Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen) welcomed us Madonna in German.
It was a great show. 'Ray Of Light' really rocked the house. Madonna kept on screaming 'I wanna see you jumping. Are you still jumping?' She was not very talkative and seemed to me aloof from time to time. But anyway it was a great show.
Madonna's and her crew's energy definitely jumps over. Before 'Substitute For Love' Madonna said how happy she is that we came together here, people from different backgrounds, colour skins, different belief systems - and we yet are all here together and it is important to see that no one is better than the other.
At the end of her speech she became unsure whether we understand. She said she didn't speak much German so we have to try to understand. 'And I hope you understand. Do you speak English?', she asked doubtfully. Before starting to sing again she thanked Germany for being a great support through her entire carreer.
A pity, that a lot of people in our block were sitting, the whole time (apart from a few songs eg. 'Ray Of Light') So we were confronted with hostilisties trying to force us to seat down and not to dance. I really cannot understand why those people buy tickets for a Madonna show? Anyway we managed it to dance a lot and having a great time!

From Roby:
Madonna, you have made my day....a rainy, wet, cold day, turned out to be the sunniest day of my life! I got in....and there she was, without make-up, trying to solve a thecnical problem, calm, but a bit pissed off....and looking soooooooooo incredible. She really is beautiful. her skin, her eyes, her body. My God....what have I done to deserve this?
The rest was just perfect, the whole show. Everything. I cried . I am to happy to have lived such and amazing moment. Tomorrow I will be in Hannover. I have travelled all the way from Italy to be here. VERY worth it. My friends, who could not be here....still cannot believe that I have seen Madonna....trying out her show! What an experience. I will never forget it. Thanks.

From Rosa:
'Welcome Germany! Willkommen meine Damen und Herren!'
On the 20th August I was at the Madonna concert in Düsseldorf, Germany! And I do have to say, that this evening was one of the best I've ever had! 2004 I was at her concert in Arnheim and this event moved me very much, because that was my first concert ever!
Well, Sunday the show started at 19:30pm with Paul Oakenfold, a 'perfecto' DJ and he was really perfect. He put us into a cocked mood and everyone wanted to have more....more....MADONNA! Then, at 21:15pm the light went out (after a break of Paul) and Future Lovers started! The crowd went wild!
After Madonna had come out of the big, with crystals blessed discoball her Fans couldn't stop screaming, singing and jumping. She welcomed us very heartily: 'Welcome Germany!'....and then....'Willkommen meine Damen und Herren!' She spoke our native language and that nearly perfectly! I couldn't stop cheering.
During the show there were lots of political flashes which moved everyone: George W. Bush was shown next to Hitler and Blair.
Then the overwhelming show went on and she sang every song with so much heart, feelings and of course disco-power! She talked a lot. Among others she invited us in the end of the show to sing with her Hung Up: 'Well Germany, this is your last chance to sing with me. Time goes by, so slowly! And now you: 'Time goes by, so slowly!' She went on and we were singing with here for certainly four minutes! During Hung up lots of gold-coloured balloons flew from the slap down into the audience!
Then she sang the last sentences of the song and dissapeared with her dancers and singers on a big plateau which went down, under the stage!
What an amazing show! I can't get enough of her charm, her voice and her concerts! Madonna? You are the best, don't stop going on, if you'll stop singing anytime, you'll sing life along in our hearts!
