Saturday 27 May - MGM Grand, Las Vegas

From Brian:
The stage was kind of like updated and 'disco-fied' version of one in the Re-Invention tour. The three 'remote' stages were screens as well and showed various images 99% of the time. The main 'remote' one in the middle also had a trap door. That's also where she did her 'chair routine' when she sang Let It Will Be.
The huge moving screens in the Re-Invention tour were back but much smaller. The centre screen was round and went up and down this time. All screens showed tightly choreographed images and videos. The whole thing was set up in such a way that the first few rows didn't always get the action. She was at the runway and the middle 'remote' stage quite a bit.
With the backdrop of Steven Klein's video, the descending and opening of the disco ball was quite a scene. The video included the latest photoshoot, x-rays of broken bones (her riding accident?) and more riding accidents of others. Future Lover was just hot!
She did 'Like A Virgin' with that bull riding thing kind of hanging in the air. More amazing moves with the pole by our beloved M.
Forbidden Love was beautifully done, with two male dancers holding hands doing some interesting moves, which M herself later joined them. The backdrop was some flowers falling. Did I say beautiful already?
You'll love both parts of Sorry. One was with real dancers and a cage. The other one was the video of a remix (PSB I think) of Sorry. Images of political figures (Bush, Blair, etc.) were mixed with Madonna's (from the Sorry video itself). Basically it was Madonna saying 'don't explain yourself, don't say you are sorry' to them.
She rocked with 'I Love New York'. She sang 'suck George Bush's dick' like she did at Coachella. 'Ray Of Light' was also like a repeat of Coachella.
Madonna continuously spoke 'at' a few people at the first row for only sitting there and not doing anything. She once even said 'if you are only going to sit there, at least you can smile'. Since it was Vegas, those seats were taken by VIP's and the likes of the MGM Hotel. Those people probably didn't care for Madonna and got the tickets for free. What a shame. Real Madonna fans would kill for those seats. I suppose people in Vegas are just too used to 'big shows'.
You will love the disco part of the concert, especially the 'disco-fied' version of Erotica. And the white suit was simply brilliant. The crowd went crazy when she did 'Lucky Star'. Basically everyone sang with her.
The concert ended with Hung Up. It's bascially the same routine that we have already seen, with the 'time goes by, so slowly' part extended. Balloons fell from ceiling.
All in all, another amazing concert by Madonna. The only song that didn't quite fit was Drowned World. It sounded awkward for reasons. I also wish those people in the front row were actually fans who would enjoy the concert. Note to fans and myself: Vegas is not the best place to see Madonna. I couldn't even find a paper that had reviews or news about the concert.

From danalas:
'Welcome ladies and gentlemen, winners or losers'....That's how Madonna addressed her awesome Vegas crowd at the Saturday night show. It's almost all gambling and good luck in Las Vegas, such as she said of finding her good friend Isaac gambling 'in a craps table' and inviting him to sing along, and luck when we noticed our seats were right next to the catwalk and that we saw Madonna less than a foot away.
The show was amazing, with climax moments almost in every song....how can anyone put together a pole dance next to a crucifixtion, a disco fever impressive dance routine and a wonderful La Isla Bonita tropical/dance mix....it’s all about being the queen....she knows how to do it, and she does it perfectly.
Talking about lucky, how about meeting Donna and Nicky popping out when we were on our last-minute tour merchandise shopping!

From Harrison:
I don't want to bore and recap all the songs (not that it would be a bore, but by now everyone knows the set list.) I was at the first Las Vegas show after being at the first Los Angeles one, and what a difference.
At first, I didn't expect anything but a repeat of her LA show, but she seemed more relaxed. Not that she wasn't having fun at the LA show that I've loved, but in Vegas, she smiled more and interacted with the audience more.
At one point, she singled out a gentleman in the front row, 'Are you in the CIA?' She gives him a second to respond and nothing. 'If you're gonna sit there, at least smile at me.' A manic fan behind me screams, 'yeah, we wish to be in the front row so smile a--hole.'
I met some great people at this venue. I sat at section 114, and I think all her fan club members were at this section because it was a loud and proud section.
Now, if only I had tickets to her last show, I could compare again. For all of you that have tickets to any of her shows, perpare yourself for an amazing time, and wear comfortable shoes cause you're not going to be sitting.

From Daniel:
Well....I first wanted to note I went to the concert spoiler free - I knew nothing about what would happen on-stage over the next two hours except that 'Live To Tell' would be sung on a cross. Knowing that, was unavoidable since it was on every ISP's home page the day after the opening. So, I was very pleasantly suprised and elated with 'Future Lovers' opening the show. I maintain still, this should have been the second single. 'Get Together' was a natural second song. I was surprised about 'Like A Virgin'....she really pulled it off!
The one thing I keep saying about the show and about Madonna to my friends and family who couldn't go is that pictures don't do her justice! Sure, she is one of - if not the most photographed, and most beautifully photographed women in the world, but she has an intoxicating beauty in person. Her body is flawless! I screamed every time she gyrated or humped something on stage-it might as well have been 1984 for me!
There is no aim to my review....except sharing that she surpassed my expectations and I definitely got my money's worth!
Highlights for me were: 'Paradise (Not For Me)', 'Drowned World (Substitute For Love)' 'You Thrill Me/Erotica' and 'Forbidden Love'.
My only problem was the crowd! I also saw Re-Invention (equally loved-but probably favored since that was my first Madonna show) Sure everyone was having fun, and loud....but you always hear about how NY or LA was just fucking crazy....Vegas simply isn't there, just a mixed crowd maybe-casual fans and the freaks I guess. M kept saying 'You guys suck!' 'You're Las Vegas-you're supposed to be outrageous'....and things like, 'if you're going to stare, smile!' to someone in the front!
I'm one of the freaks. Long live the Queen!

From Eric:
I too was in section 114, as was Harrison....he's right, we were all fanclub members, so it was a total blast.
There were seriously barricades guarded by police officers directing the traffic all around the MGM. Talk about being a big deal, Madonna. So we get inside and find our seats, which ROCK so hard. Everyone in our section (114) were fanclub members, so you know we all were there to have a good time. It was basically my female friend surrounded by a bunch of gay men. And really, is there any other way to experience a Madonna concert?
So after chit-chatting with the other fans, we noticed a giant discoball overhead. We knew that she's supposed to enter in a discoball, so we wondered if she was up there. We laughed picturing her doing a yoga headstand inside this discoball suspended over the stage until showtime.
Finally, the lights go out. The screens light up and show Madonna, at which point everyone loses their shit. Three songs in and I am already hot from dancing. She totally pole-dances during 'Like A Virgin! It was hot and I loved every second of it.
Pretty soon she appeared on the already imfamous cross during 'Live To Tell' while an overhead screen displayed constantly growing numbers of those infected with AIDS. She followed that with 'Forbidden Love', with two male dancers side by side using only their interlocked arms for choreography, symbolizing the struggle of acceptance of gay love. It was beautiful.
Later on, she had a video montage to a broken down remix of 'Sorry,' bashing countless world leaders, especially our own George W Bush. Images of oil, starving children, and dying animals flashed across the screens. The lyrics took on a whole new meaning....'Don't explain yourself cause talk is cheap/You're not half the man you like to be.'
She also managed to squeeze in some more Bush bashing during 'I Love New York,' changing the lines much like she did at Coachella. 'Just go to Texas, where you can suck George Bush's dick!' At the end of the song, she instructed the audience to 'stand up or bow down to your future president' with a cocky grin. It was heaven.
Throughout the show, Madonna kept yelling at this one guy in the front who apparently wasn't there to have a good time. 'If you're going to sit in the front row, at least smile for me.' She also yelled at the whole arena....'I'm sorry, am I bothering you? You must be so tired from all that work you're doing.' Alexa looked at me and mouthed, 'What a bitch.' We loved every minute of it.
Finally, the show came to an end with a blasting rendition of 'Lucky Star' that immediately went into 'Hung Up'....it was an absolutely phenomenal show....she gave it her all, more than any other tour of hers for sure. She rightfully earns her title of Queen of Pop, or as it read on her cape in the finale, 'Dancing Queen.' Hell, she rightfully earns the title of The Queen, plain and simple.

From Lance:
The first thing I did when they opened the doors at 7:00 was to find my seat to see how close I was to the stage and to see the set-up. I was surprised at how great my seat was. I was directly in front of the center stage area (about 20 rows back, but elevated off the floor) and probably only about 150 feet away from the right side stage. Very, very close.
My anticipation began to increase even more after seeing that. I stayed in my seat and listened to the driving trance music they were pumping into the arena. I particularly was impressed that it was not random music, but more like a DJ set building up the energy like you would hear at a dance club.
The beats started driving faster and faster with heavier and heavier synths whipping the crowd into a frenzy. Every now and then, Madonna's vocals could be heard in the background - 'it's all an illusion' from Get Together. While waiting for the show to begin, I met a guy named Rob who was sitting behind me. He told me he was in from LA had seen all three previous shows on the tour and he had to come again. He was nice and it was good to not be the only person who was at the show alone. An older guy in front of me was alone as well.
Some really pretty girls were sitting behind me and talked with Rob and I before the show. I was impressed with their Madonna knowledge - and the fact that they were dressed like Paris Hilton and danced fiercely all night.
Finally, at about 8:40, the lights went out in the arena and the crowd went crazy. The screens across the main stage started the horse montage video and the near deafening galloping sound swept through the arena. I LOVED that. Then, the dancers appeared on stage left and right - the guys with bits in their mouths and the girls in riding crops holding them with reigns.
Next, Madonna appears on the video screen - 'I'm Going to tell you about love. Let's forget your life.' She suggests. 'Forget your problems, administration, bills and loans. Come with me'. She commanded. Then, as the horses continued their stampede across the main stage, a huge disco ball begins to descend from the rafters down to the center stage.
At the end of it's descent - all lights are dark except for the spotlight shimmering off of the disco ball - which explodes open to reveal Madonna as the song takes off with the heavy trance beat and vocals - 'Connect to the sky, future lovers ride, with their visions high, would you like to try?'
Future Lovers is my favorite song from the new album; however the power of its dreamy trance does not translate as well live - but it was definitely a great opening choice mainly because of the transition into a brief cover of Donna Summer's I Feel Love, on which Future Lovers is loosely based. I could not believe how amazing Madonna looked. The black riding outfit with the boots and crop was mesmerizing.
I was beginning to question if I was gay or not again, but then quickly realized I had just traveled across the country, by myself, and was dancing and jumping around watching the biggest gay icon of all time while I was having these thoughts. I loved it when Madonna and the dancers pranced in a horse trot to the main stage at the end - it looked really interesting.
Get Together was the second song and she really looked like she was into the show and responding to the crowd. I think maybe she heard that the main criticism of the show was her lack of connection and tried to banter with audience a little more. I thought she interacted more this time than on both the DWT and RIT. The song sounded great - although I wanted it to be LOUDER. Rob behind me was singing every lyric at the top of his lungs. But who could blame him? It was like we were at a religious revival.
Like A Virgin was a holy shit show stopper! 'Are you ready to take a ride with me?' she teased. It was a moment in pop music that I was LUCKY to have the privilege of seeing. She sang it true to the original vocal track and not campy as she has in past tours all the while straddling a mechanical saddle and performing what looked to be a yoga/sex pole stripper routine on it throughout the whole song. The beat was especially hard and you could feel it through the floor. Visuals of her x-rays from the horse riding accident were flashing on the screen - but our girl was clearly back in the saddle.
What made the moment really amazing was the fact that she performed it on stage right - about 150 feet away from me. She was so close that I could see every detail - the expression on her face, her eyeliner, several loose hairs out of place from the hat she had been wearing when she first came out on stage - that kind of detail. To see the most famous woman in the world perform the song that launched her into mega-stardom in such an organic, original way was something I will never forget. She was soaking up the crowd's reaction.
I was just watching in amazement saying Holy Shit out loud over and over and over again. Funny thing, I was not the only one reacting that way - the entire crowd was completely enthralled - even all the baby boomers who were not dancing before got up off their asses for that one.
'Thanks for coming to our little show,' Madonna said in a British accent, 'it's only just begun really and the night is long - so I hope you are ready. Are you ready? I SAID ARE YOU READY?!'
She launched right into Jump. Cages and gymnastics bars were lowered to the stage and the dancers did some really impressive stunts. That was one thing that really stood out all night - they were not just dancing, there were several dangerous stunts throughout the night. It would always catch me off guard. Wait a minute - did they really just do that?
Jump has been an inspirational song for me since the first time I heard it - it has kind of been the soundtrack for my life over the past six months with a job change after seven years and the decision to definitively end a relationship and focus on myself for a while. The lyrics really speak to me and I really connected with the song on that level. At the very end a lot of imagery was flashed across the video screen.
One of the images was of the Vav Vav Lahmed, the Hebrew letter combination from Kabbalah that represents defying gravity and practicing mind over matter (tying directly into the song title/message of Jump) I had this letter combination tattooed on my shoulder last year. That was my first moment of true connecton of the night.) This was the end of the first of four sections of the show and Madonna disappeared into the stage very quickly at the end.
I still cannot believe that some jerk had the audacity to ask us to sit down so they could see. Rob and I launched into a tirade that I am sure he will not soon forget. It was during the next number, Live To Tell, where she comes out on the cross and has the images of the African AIDS statistics running like a countdown going upward and web sites to contact to help send relief.
Rob was going nuts on the guy and I turned around to see what the commotion was about and once I understood what was being said, I told the guy that I had flown across the country from Atlanta, paid nearly $400 for my ticket and that if I wanted to take a dump in my seat than I bloody well would and that the people who could not see were welcome to turn their attention to the video screens hanging from the ceiling if they would rather sit.
Then, Rob added that the lazy fuckers should not have been there in the first place and that there were some vacant slot machines they might like to go sit in front of which made me laugh. She sounded very strong vocally on this one. Her voice filled the arena well. I am so glad she learned how to sing when she made Evita.
Forbidden Love was next and it was brief - two male dancers performed a suggestive dance together and then later two female dancers did the same and then Madonna got mixed up in both of their dances. I thought this was just OK - it was only about two minutes long and I think it was there more for the message of acceptance.
Isaac, who I recognized from the Kabbalah Centre, came out and played a haunting segment on a horn that launched into, ironically enough, the song Isaac. I loved this performance. One of the female dancers was in a cage on stage kind of dressed like Madonna was in the Frozen video, very bird-like, and as the song went on she liberated herself to freedom and did a truly amazing acrobatic dance. The vocals were great on this.
Sorry is one of my least favorite songs on the new album, but I have to say it was one of my favorite songs of the night. I would compare it to the rock version of Burning Up from the RIT. It got me going, fist pumping in the air. It was powerful. The set was very much like the video with the cages and the dance off scene. 'Feels like girl power to me! she screamed at the end, confirming once and for all that I am in fact gay when I screamed back along with the rest of the crowd.
Like It Or Not was her moment to strut in the face of her critics. 'You can like me or leave me, but I'm never gonna stop!' The sequence with the chair during this song was hot. I was afraid that she might fall though. It moved precariously to the side when she was standing on it at one point. I loved it when she walked up the cat walk with the chair and threw it down violently when she hit the main stage. Classic Madonna.
It went right into I Love New York - which I thought would be the big rock number of the night - but I think I was so blown away by Sorry that it was a little anticlimactic - it was great, don't get me wrong. She strapped on that guitar and played the hell out of it. I really liked the anti-Bush reference she added to the lyric about Texas and the whole crowd erupted in cheers. It probably never had a chance with me because I knew what was coming next....
Ray Of Light - what can I say about this song? I have never had such a deep spiritual connection to a song. I am quite sure no song will ever replace this as my favorite song of all time. I love the rock guitar, which was on steroids on this version, and the trance synths behind it and the percussion explosions. To me this song represents the sound of the energy of life.
It is the sound of whatever it is that gets us through the day, that courses through our spirit on the highest of highs and more faintly but still present during the darkest of times - the sound of what are souls are made of speaks to me in this song. It's the creation of the universe lyrically and I was hitting the rafters with my fists pumping as I was jumping higher and higher and screaming louder and louder - AND I FEEL LIKE I JUST GOT HOME!
'You people down here in the front have got to be exhausted from all that work your doing - I am tired just watching you - thanks! Everybody stand and dance out there. There is no sitting at my show!' I was soaking wet with sweat and fresh out of water at this point.
Let It Will Be was all about Madonna. No one else on stage - she was strutting around with very performance art-like loose dancing. Complete confidence. 'Just watch me burn! was delivered with a punch after each word. I don't think a lot of people understand the lyric reference to the fact that stars in space are made up of bodies of burning heat and energy. I think this song goes hand-in-hand with Like It Or Not and is an answer to the doubters and naysayers. 'Now I can tell you about success, about fame…all those lights they will turn down - just watch me burn!'
Drowned World (Substitute for Love) was another great moment. Another song that I connect with spiritually and I liked the dressed down version. Her vocal was VERY IMPRESSIVE on this. She nailed it in a way that even I did not expect. The audience really responded to this one as well and appreciated the breather.
Paradise (Not For Me) was next and Isaac was back out to sing some back-up vocals on this one. It was a little odd - the vocoder treatment on her voice was done the same way it is on the album. I could not help but notice how amazing she looked at this point in the show. Her hair was all wild from the intense dancing and guitar jamming she had done on I Love NY and Ray of Light - she looked a lot like she did on the album cover for Ray of Light and in the video for that song and Drowned World.
I realized during this song that I am completely in love with her. Beautiful. She disappears behind a screen that is lowered.
The arena goes completely dark. Images of all Madonna's past videos and songs flash through in a dazzling display of audio and video clips. A clever way to get songs in that people wanted to hear and to showcase all the different iconic imagery spanning her career. Confirming her status as a cultural icon and setting up the final set that was about to set the roof on fire and burn the motherfucker down!
The audio and visual clips from the past morphed into an image of Madonna on a dance floor in a vibrant red dress really throwing down - several images from different angles moving all around several screens to the beat of Disco Inferno with the synth tease of Music intertwined. Everyone was going crazy dancing, jumping and screaming - and there was NO ONE on stage. Finally, the dancers emerge six feet into the air from hydraulic throws and on roller skates! And more amazing stunts that actually made me quite nervous at times.
Then, Madonna emerges in a white disco suit right out of Saturday Night Fever. She slowly rises out of the floor on the center stage. I had heard about this costume and I did not think I would like it, but it WORKED. The dancing in this sequence was particularly noteworthy.
For the next two songs she went old school and pulled out La Isla Bonita - one of my least favorite Madonna songs of all time - but it was a revved up version and it worked. I thought the imagery was cheesy on this one though - looked like a Panama Jack or OP T-Shirt concept to me.
I could not figure out what the next song was even though I had seen the set list and I can normally pick out a Madonna song on one note - but I had forgotten she was performing Erotica. It was mixed in with the original demo version of 'You Thrill Me' and it rocked. A great surprise.
She donned her disco cape for the finale - it was emblazened with Dancing Queen across the back and the inside lit up with bedazzled electric lights. Lucky Star was performed to the throbbing beat of Hung Up and as the song went on, the inevitable final song started to work its way into the lyric. Star Light, Star Bright....Time Goes By....First Star I See Tonight....So Slowly....Time Goes By, So Slowly....
Hung Up was performed like it was at the European MTV Awards and the Grammy Awards except she added a balloon drop after the 'slow sex dance' part of the song when it launches into the final round of the chorus with the big energy swell. Total pandemonium. The girl knows how to create a scene. Rob ran down and got some of the balloons and gave me one. Very nice of him. And then, too quickly, the stage closed and the words 'Have you confessed?' appeared across the stage and the house lights came on.
I sat and soaked it all in for about a half hour as the arena cleared. I think this may have been my favorite tour yet....there were no gaps like Imagine and Mother and Father from RIT or the Gone and Mer Girl sequence in DWT. This was all top shelf Madonna - quintessential. The spectacle of Like A Virgin, the energy during Sorry and Ray of Light and the Disco Inferno sequence are unforgettable. I left, once again, re-inspired by my muse.

From Sean:
I think I'm starting to recover from my wild weekend in Las Vegas. I saw the 5/27 show and she was HOT! Of course, the Vegas audience was late filling the arena, so the show started late. I've been waiting for the past three years to see her again, so 40 minutes was nothing.
She was really on that night. She commented to the audience on several occasions, joked, flipped someone off (during 'Sorry'), and asked a stoic looking man in the front if he, 'Worked for the CIA?'
I've seen Madonna three times now and this one was the best. She usually doesn't interact with the audience this much. I was particularly touched with 'Live To Tell.' The moving voice-overs and dance at the beginning set the tone. Madonna looked somber as she sang.
I also liked the 'Sorry' remix where she showed controversial world-leaders. She didn't mask her contempt for George W. Bush during the montage and also made the 'Suck George Bush's d**k' comment during I Love New York. She's still not afraid to speak her mind. At one point she put her hands down her pants and asked, 'Mind if I make myself comfortable?' Our girl is in true form!
As a side note, I would like to comment also on section 114. It was so nice to see other real Madonna fans. We didn't sit down once and probably screamed the loudest!

Sunday 28 May - MGM Grand, Las Vegas

From Marcos:
The second show in Las Vegas was phenomenal! Even Madonna said 'Wow, you guys are not bad for a Vegas crowd!'....although a couple of times she did remind some sections of the audience to 'get up off your asses!'
The other hilarious comment she made last night was 'Please extinguish ALL your cigarettes.....THE ONLY thing on fire here is ME!', the crowd loved it!
This time around I made sure I had a seat by the 'Like A Virgin' carousel - so I was literally less than 5 feet from Madonna (on the right side of the stage), which by the way, if you anyone is still trying to get seats, go for the right side of the stage as a lot more happens on that end!
Madonna was relaxed, smiling and having a lot of fun. She made a lot more comments than during the LA shows and everything continues to move smoothly like clockwork!
At one point, she also pointed out a guy in the front row and THANKED him, saying that she can only have ONE favorite each night and that HE was HER FAVORITE! (I am sure this fan is still speechless!).
During Hung Up, when she asks the audience to sing 'time goes by....so slowly', she actually put the microphone in front of 2 fans by the catwalk and let them sing on the mic, which she had not done during the previous shows.
Again, all us FANS can only be thankful that our queen is putting out such an incredible show for us this summer!

From Richard:
I'd like to share my experience from the 2nd Vegas show. It was definitely more than I expected. I felt like having a deja vous! I went to see the Re-invention show in Vegas exactly 2 years ago! At that time I did not think anything would surpass it. Well, I was wrong! Our lady still knows how to push herself more and comes up with great ideas!
The crowd was for a typical Vegas audience a lot better than last time her at this venue, which she even admitted during the show when she said: 'What a surprise?! Las Vegas is on fire!'
The show started with a 40 minute delay, which I think was caused mostly by people still not being at their seats. Approximately 20 minutes before the start the crowd started applauding. I had no idea what was happening. Then I noticed a blond girl walking towards the front section with 3 bodyguards. It was Paris Hilton! She waved at the audience a couple of times and then took a seat in about 7th row from the stage.
The show started of course with 'Future Lovers' and the equestrian footage. I could feel the excitement in the air and from the people around me. I must say that I was surprised how good Madonna sounded even when she sang the 'I Feel Love' lines, which are definitely some tough notes to hit. I liked the 'horse' choreography the dancers performed during this number. Just the idea of a dance routine that would look like horses marching might sound funny, but this was well done!
When 'Like A Virgin' started she addressed the audience saying: 'Alright Las Vegas are ready to ride with me? Are you ready?' She performed the song same way she did in the other shows riding the poll saddle with pictures of her MRI scans and X-rays of her broken bones.
During the beginning couple of notes of 'Jump' she thanked the audience for coming to the show: 'Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for coming to the show. Please extinguish your cigarettes. For the next two hours and I am the only one that will be on fire!' Seeing dancers jumping on the bars and climbing the cages during this song kept me thinking how dangerous it is to do something like that during a live show. Just imagine performing it during a rainy weather at an open stadium....
'Live To Tell' was just simply beautiful and I could not get over the fact that so many people in the media have misunderstood the whole point and focused only on the 'cross' thing! The message was so clear with the footage of dying children in Africa and quotes from the Bible.
'Sorry' started the 'PSB remix' lines and Madonna hugging and kissing her dancers - symbolic interpretation of the song. The remix that was played on the screens as an interlude was showing Madonna from the 'Sorry' video saying 'Don't speak, don't speak. I've heard it all before' with mixed images of Nixon, Hitler, Saddam Hussein, and other politicians including president Bush winking his eyes. Two dancers were in the mean time fighting on the stage. The last images on the screen said: 'The audience is listening....'
Before 'Like It Or Not' Madonna talked to the audience again: 'Are you enjoying the show? Do you want more? Let me see what I can do for you....' The number reminded me of the BA 'Open Your Heart' performance with the chair. It ended with a beautiful picture of a red rose on the main screen.
During 'I Love New York' she again said the words about going to Texas and....you know. I guess it's part of the show now. At the end of the number she said: 'Don't take it personally though.' 'Ray Of Light' was a blast with her rocking the stage and dancers performing another interesting dance routine.
I know I am going to get beat up for this, but for me the lowest point of the show was 'Let It Will Be.' I am sorry, but I think her singing was a little bit off during this number and it did not have the vibe I was expecting.
She talked to the audience a little bit again at the beginning of 'Drowned World' as she was sitting down on the steps at the begging of the catwalk. She said something about happiness. Unfortunately I don't remember what exactly. 'Paradise (Not For Me)' had the most beautiful images on the screens - petals falling from the trees.
The whole disco theme part of the show was my favorite! 'Music Inferno' was just amazing with her doing the John Travolta dance and dancers on roller blades. It was so much fun!
'Erotica' was more 'You Thrill Me' demo version, so many people were confused as they did not recognize the song. During the first notes of 'La Isla Bonita' Madonna said: 'Las Vegas it's time to put on your dancing shoes!'
People got really on their feet during 'Lucky Star' that had images of stars and comets on the screen and of course during the last song 'Hung Up.' Lady M teased the audience again: 'Come on, this is your last chance! The show is almost over!' and let some of the people around the cat walk sing the 'time goes by so slowly' line in her mic. That was really cool! The show ended of course with blue and pink balloons and confetti falling from the top.
I am glad I went to the second show. From what I've heard she was having a lot more fun than the first night. I think she was surprised that she did not get the 'typical' Vegas audience that does not give it up. Thank you Vegas, thank you Madonna for a great evening!

From ROBERTBOYRACER:
Just got back into town from a long weekend in Vegas. You don't want to hear, you've heard it all before, what can I say about Vegas other then the shows were as hot as the Vegas weather. There were a few references to the city during her shows and the crowd was a typical Vegas crowd, stiff high rollers who are just taking a break from rolling the dice. They probably did make the right choice in spending the evening with Lady Madonna rather then lady luck.
Madonna did make a comment during the first night that peaked my interest. She commented on a gentleman in the audience that didn't seem to be enjoying himself, asking if he was in the CIA. I wonder if she or her management has been contacted by the FBI or CIA for her out spoken disapproval of the current administration like some other artist have. Recently, alt-rock hero Morrissey was visited by the FBI and the British Secret Service for his comments on Bush and Blair. Maybe they've paid Madonna a visit or are scoping out the show?
Well, if they have seen the show, Madonna's views (it is especially loud and clear during the Sorry video interlude and I Love New York) seem to be more reflective of how people in America are feeling toward G.W. these days. If they are watching, I hope the government agents enjoy Madonna's rockin bod and moves on stage. Let's hope their lips aren't he only thing stiff on their bodies.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, one more show left for me (Staples Center 6/3). I couldn't imagine spending my holiday & my life's savings any other way. It was a pleasure to meet other fans out there. You all do Madonna proud!

From Salvador:
I wanted to share some of my favorite Madonna quotes from her two shows in Vegas:
Saturday's Show:
'You are supposed to be the most lively people on the planet.' (She said this to the subdued crowd)
'You people suck!' (Her response to the audience when they did not repeat, 'Time Goes By So Slowly' to her liking near the end of the concert)
Sunday's Show:
'Ladies and Gentlemen, put out your cigarettes, because for the next two hours, I WILL BE THE ONLY ONE ON FIRE!'
'The Vegas crowd is on fire tonight!'
She also read someone's t-shirt on the front row, stage left. I don't remember the exact wording, but it was some homage to smiling. She said that person was her favorite that night. Afterward, someone else in the front row tried to get the title as well, but she responded, 'No, I can only have one favorite in every show and tonight, he's my favorite.'
Sunday night was a much better show. During the final number, Hung Up, she walked on the catwalk (this group repeated, 'Time Goes By So Slowly' much better than Saturday's group) and allowed two guys sitting next to the catwalk to sing the line into the microphone while she held it! After the, 'Have You Confessed?' line appeared, the lights stayed off for quite some time. The audience was shouting for an encore and it seemed as if it was going to happen. A loud, 'Awwwwwwwwww', resonated in the arena when the lights came up some time later.
