Tuesday 01 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Amy (Aged 9):
I had a great night at Wembley arena on Tuesday 1st August. I really, really, really, really, really, really liked her 7 outfits and pairs of shoes! I think Madonna is definitely the best ever pop star in the whole wide world!
I loved her song Jump because of all her equipment that came down from the ceiling. I also loved Lucky Star because of her star cloak. I especially liked her Hung Up sparkling purple leotard and sparkly shoes! Madonna shocks and rocks! It’s amazing to think she is 47! I don’t believe she is.
She is a great singer and dancer and she is so cool playing the guitar too! I really liked the bit where all her dancers were on roller-skates! It was definitely the best time of my life!

From Anders:
I went to Madonna's first Wembley concert last night. It was - surprise, surprise - amazing! The audience were quite stiff and dull, unfortunately, but after I Love New York Madonna said 'Put your arms in the air and JUMP!' and she got everybody to jump and dance to Ray Of Light, which was without doubt the highlight of the night. I thought I was going to faint afterwards.
Madonna's monologue was incredibly funny: She went on about how much she'd missed London and how good it was to be home. She said she even missed the congestion charge, which caused an outburst of laughs from the audience. Then she noticed this security guard holding back the fans and went 'Hey, man in the orange shirt! You're not being very nice to my fans....you're supposed to let them have fun!' and naturally, he was all smiles for being noticed by the Queen.
It was unbearably hot, which apparently annoyed Madonna as well: 'Usually, I ask people to turn of the airconditioning and the first time I ask them to turn it on, they don't have any!'
Cloud fell on his roller skates but he managed to get up again quickly.
After experiencing her live for the first time, there's no doubt in my mind that Madonna can sing and dance better than anyone despite her age and despite what people say. She totally rocks and the show was worth all £160!

From Chris:
I went to see Madonna at Wembley Arena last night and have to say that it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Her voice and dance moves were incredible. The show is electric for start to finish.
The arena was so hot that alot of the guys in the audience were dancing with no shirts on. At one point in the show Madonna said how hot it was and that the one time she asks for the air conditioning to be turned on they don't have it.
The tracks that stood out for me were Ray Of Light, Sorry, Live To Tell and Hung Up. During Ray Of Light Madonna got the whole arena to put their hands in the air and jump up and down, it was truly amazing.
She also said that it was good to be home and that she had missed the countryside, her house and even the congestion charge. For those of you who are going to see her at Wembly have a great time and my advice would be to wear tshirt and shorts as you will get very very hot.

From CyberCelt:
I was very impressed with the atmosphere in the building as a number of mexican waves made their way past me a couple of times, the crowd we're in great spirits. I was shocked as to how small the stage seemed to be as from looking at video and fan footage it looks huge.
The show started to everyone standing and cheering I was immediately impressed with Madonna's voice it was excellent! I've never heard it better. I rang some friends during Like A Virgin number and I was very impressed with her dancers in Jump.
I was also really impressed with the set changes done flawlessly. Some of my favourite moments we're Madonna's dancing in Forbidden Love, obviously her entrance from the disco ball and cross, I loved Let It Will Be the best as it is my favourite song and it is just Madonna up there entertaining the whole crowd with her dancing/fit she does all on her own.
I loved Drowned World as I love that song too, I loved the set for I Love New York an updated version of what they had in G-A-Y. I didn't stop jumping for the whole of Ray Of Light, neither did anyone else. I was worried there would be a lackluster crowd but Madonna didn't have to complain once about people sitting as she has done at earlier shows.
The best part was her chatting to the crowd after Let It Will Be and the final section of the show the disco section impressing everyone with Disco Inferno, her dancing was amazing, and I loved Erotica as I had heard this updated mix and loved it. I didn't think I would like La Isla Bonita but I did, it was happy and light and upbeat, Lucky Star felt a bit like a really long intro for Hung Up.
The atmosphere was kept going during Madonna's quick costume change, then I felt a mixture of joy and sadness as this was the last song and one I really wanted to hear. It was amazing madonna was amazing she seem happy with the level of excitment and everyone was singing along.

From Dave:
Wow with a capital W. I have seen her live from Who's That Girl right through to last nights' Confessions and she just gets better. Her voice was honed, dance routines tight and the energy! I have never felt it like that before, she wanted us mother fuckers dancing and she got it.
I was concerned when I read that Drowned world and Paradise was on the set list as they didn't seem to fit with the disco theme, but I needed the break from dancing and she must of too!
Live To Tell was a very powerful number, not just the re-working of the song but the imagery, it was a true reminder that we can all make a difference if we want to.
A highlight for me had to be Music, always a good song live but she turned it in to something so fun and energetic the crowed went wild.
I don't think I have ever heard her interact with the audience as much as she did last night either, telling us she missed London even the congestion charge, then muttering 'I am going to have to do something about that! And joking with us that for the first time she asked for the aircon to be turned only to be told that the arena doesn't have it! 'Life's funny that way!'
She truly had the audience eating out of the palm of her hand and she loved it, she looked relaxed and very happy and the at the top of her game.

From Fiontan:
I saw Madonna on 1st of August, it was my second time seeing her and I was blown away. The sets, the costumes, the dancers all were amazing. But you didn't feel she was carried by them, instead she was the glue that made it all come together in truly spectacular fashion.
Highlights were the opening, Ray Of Light, Hung Up, Like A Virgin and Paradise (Not For Me).
The dancers as ever demanded applause and were awe inspiring. While Music Inferno showed a suprisingly comedic side to her highness, as she mimicked John Travolta's iconic Saturday Night Fever moves.
The show was so enjoyable that the lack of vintage hits was not even noticable and I even felt the old hits that were included were not as memorable as much of the newer ones.
My only critiicism was the lack of any bows or introduction to the band or dancers - especially as they played such an important role in the overall production. But this was still Madonna's show, and she has never been better or sexier.
The some of the harshness and rigidity of Reinvetion being replaced with a coherent, dynamic, thoughful, suprisingly intimate and exciting show. Overall - the best concert I have ever been to.

From Giorgio:
I went to see Madonna last night in London and I was so happy with the show. The opening number was incredible. I would say it is at the same level as Express Yourself from the Blond Ambition tour. She is so fit and beautiful. Her body is built like a rock.
One thing I did not really like about the show was when she sang I Love New York. But hey it is 10 out 10 for me. Two more shows to go. I can’t wait.

From Lee:
I went to see madonna last night at Wembley, from start to finish I was amazed with her performance, the crowd was buzzing and dancing. I've been to all of her tours in the past but I have to say that the Confessions Tour is the best by far.
With the high ticket price I have to say personally it was worth every penny and just goes to show shes still the QUEEN of Pop!
Long live Madonna!

From Michelle And Amy:
The undisputed Queen of Pop, she rocks!
The opening concert at Wembley was spectacular.
There will never ever be another Madonna, her energy was electrifying and just about everyone was dancing for the full two hours. Although unbearably hot and she did ask for the air con to be put on but was told they did not have any it was worth every penny!
My personal highlight was when she was playing her electric guitar to I Love New York, and the Disco diva part of the show where she performed a fantastic funky version of La Isla Bonita and Lucky Star. It would be great if she released the disco versions of these everyone went wild for them!
The actual lighting, stage props and dancers as always were out of this world. It is not just going to see a Pop Concert, but a polished mind blowing experience that I will always remember. She really takes the meaning of concert to another level, which nobody else even comes close to.
It’s amazing to think at 34 I am sitting aching from my dancing to the concert whereas 47 year old Madonna is back on again tomorrow!
I salute Madonna long may she reign!

From Neil:
The show was great, and the crowd was better than any UK crowd from Drowned World or Reinvention - whoever thought we'd get mass clapalongs to Forbidden Love or Isaac?!
I take credit for the whoop whoops during Ray of Light, as I did for Cardiff! Please take note and whoop along at the appropriate juncture for the remainder of the run so I dont look stupid. Also please can we keep the whoops going for Let It Will Be? I enjoy whooping!
The show was great - incidents of note: she messed up a line in Jump, and a line in I Love New York. Poor Cloud had a mess up in Music, planted Cowboy hat made its comeback, we noticed she has her own personal air con unit at the front of the stage, she said 'The only night I ask for the air con to be switched on and I find out it isnt working'.
She made us scream had we missed her 4 times, told us she was glad to be home, that London WAS her home, and that she wasnt blowing smoke up our asses by saying that. At the end of Sorry she did her usual 'A lot of people talk the talk, but how many of us actually walk the walk?' rhetoric. No one whooped to this.
There was a very lame crowd reaction to I Love New York, (probably because of the London dissing) which was a shame, she didnt even say 'I dont really think London is crap....' Mmmm.
The best part was when she berated Wembley Security. For those of us who were near victims of the Wembley Camera Nazis during Reinvention, such sweet justice. The security guard in the front row was pushing people back from the catwalk. M saw him, berated him and told him to leave people alone and let them enjoy themselves!
Total f--king madness on the floor. Cameras going off everywhere, everyone crushed around the stage (im B4 row 4 next to catwalk on Thursday so will wear protective armour....), Security Chief bloke told me 'We've been told not to let people crowd the catwalk but there are 3,000 people sitting on the floor and its not like we can stop them'.
Ray Of Light stole the show once again. Ive seen 50+ gigs at Wembley Arena and I've never seen it pop like that.
Atmosphere was not a patch on the Cardiff Gold Circle experience but overall the show was better, she was massively connected with the audience and the seated parts were up all night, unlike Cardiff. And we saw Duncan from Blue and Gwynnie Paltrow, although no Kylie with notebook as we saw at Reinvention's opening night. Maybe WH Smith was shut.
Roll on catwalk and Thursday....

From Neil L:
Last night was amazing! She sang so well, and from what I can tell there were no cock ups which is a great thing given it was the first night!
The entrance is the best ever! The whole disco ball seems to light up from the inside, aned it actually looks like it's exploding when it opens....and there she is! Well, you know the rest!
Some high lights for me were Live To Tell - sounded absolutely fantastic, her voice has never sounded better! And so emotional. I Love New York and Ray Of Light were superb. The house just rocked for those two numbers, and 90% of the crowd were jumping up and down like she asked! It was a great crowd, big shout out to all that were there last night - you rocked!
Just after Let It Will be, she had a little chat with the audience, saying how much she's missed London. 'It's good to be home! I missed my house, I missed the ountryside. I even missed the Congestion Charge! No, that was a joke. We're gonna have to do something about that.' - really funny and all the Londoners around me were screaming in agreement!
She told the stewards to stop being nasty to her fans as well! 'You in the orange shirt,' she said, 'I hope you're not being horrible to my fans - look how loved up they are - and love is a two way street, baby!'.
One word of warning to anyone going yo Wembley - it is HOT! Everyone was dripping. I was soaked to the bone, and I was dancing. My friend stood the whole time quite still, and he still ended up wetter than me! Dress appropriately - Wembley has no Air Condtioning!
'I normally ask them to switch the Air Con off, and the one time I need it on they don't have any!', she said! Top night!

From PaulieV:
I was blown away! Standing a little less than half way down the catwalk I danced like a looney all night. The crowd was loving it and you could tell that Madge was too. She was smiling pretty much all the way through. There was nothing new in the show though she did lie down on the steps saying it was too hot and the one time she actually asks for the air conditioning to be turned on instead of off, there isn’t any. She also chastised the guys in the orange jackets for not being nice to her fans 'love is a two way street you know!'
She made us scream for her, after saying she’d never have thought she’d say it about London but 'it’s great to be home' then came....
'Did you miss me?'
'YES!'
'Did you really miss me?'
'YEEEEES!'
'Did you really really really miss me?'
'YEEEEESSSSS!'
Seems like Madonna had a whale of a time and wanted everyone to jump up and down in Ray Of Light though sympathized that it was really hot. And when we all tired, she told everyone off for stopping.
Such a great show, I got eye contact and sung too, smiled at, high fived by the dancers and the fella from the Hung Up video and last tour pulled a ludicrous face at us.
At one point in Let It Will Be as she walked down the catwalk she took some guys cowboy hat, wore it, danced for a bit then tossed into the other part of the crowd. I could see all the people round him saying that she’d just chucked his hat, but you could tell he was simply resigned....Madonna took it, whatareyougonnado?!
It’s such coherent, slick and stunning show, beautiful to look at, great to hear, excellent reworking of tracks especially as I don’t like the new album much but it still rocks! Stuart Price should stay on board for years to come.
I am trying so hard to resist the urge to go back!

From Sarah:
Well what a night and I have to confess that Madonna was hotter than ever! Never have I experienced such an electricfying atmosphere (apart from her G.A.Y show) and the crowd never stopped dancing.
Allowing us to take in cameras (instead of having to hide them) was a relief, but that Madonna saw us taking the photos and then came over and posed for them was even better!
We were at the front of the catwalk and even though she was just out of our reach, many fans got to touch her! Madonna you love your London fans and we love you!

From Scott:
Madonna's first night at Wembley was amazing! The show is slick, sexy and loads of fun. Jump was my highlight, along with Isaac, which gave the show a surreal feeling. The political statements were hard hitting, and dark, but also necessary. 'We live in a world full of people who walk the walk, but who actually talks the talk?' she asked. Madonna obviously believes passionately that she is making a difference, it is up to the audience to decide if she does or not. What can you do today?
On a lighter note, it was nice to hear her tell us that she missed home, the countryside, and the congestion charge! And she seemed to get a bit of a buzz from us telling her we missed her too! Duncan James from Blue sat in of us, and we also saw Darren Hayes! Wonder who else was there. Get a ticket, the show is fantastic! And hi to Louisa and the Italians! Nice to see you all still crazy as ever! Enjoy Rome!

From Stephen:
I had the pleasure of attending the first night at Wembley. Having seen every tour that Madonna has done since 1987, the thing that struck me on entering the venue was the intimacy of the gig.
I had managed to get tickets at the front of block E3, which I was little disappointed with, however this didn't detract from the show and it proved to be one of the most enjoyable shows I've ever seen her perform.

From Tracy:
Went to see opening night at Wembley-WOW! I was blown away. I've seen Madonna several times now and I was a bit anxious about this one - I took my husband to see Madonna on the Re-Invention tour (his first time) and we were both really dissapointed with that one. However - he thought it was great - he even danced a bit!
She was fabulous. Her energy is unbelievable - even in that heat. My highlights were the opening song - Future Lovers/I Feel Love, Sorry, Ray Of Light, Jump, Paradise (Not For Me), Hung Up - there wasn't a bad bit at all - the audience were fantastic and she was feeding off that.
Absolutely fantastic - maybe on par with Blond Ambition - please don't ever stop!

Thursday 03 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Andy:
Well, just got home from what was, without a doubt, the best concert I have ever seen in my life! Had seats in B4, row 18, so they were so close to the main catwalk (anyone having seats in B4/B2 - sure, some seats are closer than others to the catwalks, but i think you're pretty much guaranteed a good view no matter where you are in these blocks). And what can I say? Maybe this will sum it up:
The excitement was at fever pitch and then came the mexican waves - awesome to see! When the lights went out I couldn't get over the reaction from the crowd - how loud did we all scream?! The globe descended and there she was with the biggest smile on her face ever. The crowd went wild - included Mrs Beckham who I could see clearly from my seat (no sign of hubby mind....) sporting a stunning new hair-do and, yes, she was giving it some with the best of them at times!
Future Lovers/I Feel Love took my breath away. The visuals on the screens complimented the performance perfectly. As for Madonna's voice - how amazing did she sound live? (Please take note, Elton).
Then on to Get Together and once again the lighting in the arena was awesome - the entire place lit up in dark red swathes of light as we sang along with the Queen of pop.
When the Like A Virgin staging came down in front of us, the moves she did up there were mind-blowing (did the heating get turned on at this point - just wondered as I became distinctly hot under the collar at this point!) A true Madonna classic revamped with such a powerful beat.
And then came Jump - wow!! You have to see it to believe it - those dancers are fantastic! If Madonna used the live performance for the video for this upcoming single release in the UK, I'm sure it would help get the track to number 1. Anyone agree?
The Live To Tell part when she rises from the stage on the cross drew gasps of awe from those around me. It's such a powerful image - yes, it may be shocking to some, but it set the scene for a very strong message Madonna obviously wanted to get across and for this reason alone I think she triumphed. It was brilliant to hear this track live after years of waiting.
Then came Forbidden Love and it struck me how the dancers managed to remember every intricate arm movement - and then Madonna joined in! Superb choreography.
As for Isaac - how good a voice does the man himself have live?! The horn went through me a bit though (no smutty comments here please!) as it was so loud, but don't you think Isaac sounds amazing live? Much better than the CD version. And Madonna's dancing was second to none once again.
The crowd's reaction to the introduction of Sorry was electric - hearing Neil Tennant's vocals starting it all off was a great way to start this track as I personally think the Pet Shop Boys remix is the best on the maxi-single. This sure was a crowd pleaser.
Personally speaking I don't really care for Like It Or Not, but the beat kicked in and it was fantastic too - loving the dancing with the seat, Madonna!
Oh, if you don't like loud music, best put your fingers in your ears for the Sorry Remix - surely the loudest I've ever heard in a concert - luckily, the louder the better in my opinion - it certainly rocked the place!
Then came I Love New York - again, not a fave of mine, but sung live it rocked! The visuals were cool too - the skyline of New York gradually appearing as the band appeared dressed in white - such a striking scene.
And then came the highlight for me - Ray Of Light. I love the track anyway, but my God, did the audience rock out to this one! The dancers were awesome once again, but I looked around and didn't see a person sitting down at all! All those hands in the air, singing along - you could tell Madonna was loving our reaction to this one.
When I thought the pace of the show had to slow down, along comes another heavy beat and Let It Will Be starts - man, she gave it 110%! I looked at my mate in amazement - surely she'd have to rest sooner or later?! And then came the speech about London which, and I know this is inaccurate, went something like this (I couldn't hear it all for the screams - mainly from me!):
'I said it during my last show and I'll say it again tonight - it's good to be home! I never thought I'd feel this way about London, but my affection for London is like a metaphor for life - you start of hating things, but the more you put up with them, the more you begin to love them and gradually the smaller things fall in to place and you fall in love with everything. I love London, I just haven't written a song about it - yet!'
She said loads more too I'm sure - sorry, I can't remember anything else, but I'm sure others will add to this later.
Now, I love Drowned World (Substitute For Love) so I was so happy to hear this sung live again. And I needed a break too so Paradise (Not For Me) afterwards was beautiful to hear and the performances of both these songs took my breath away. So haunting and atmospheric - and even though the pace of the music had changed, those around me stood out of their seats from start to finish!
Then BANG! The drums start again and Music (Disco Inferno Mix) starts up - the perfect way to bring the disco to the arena. What a mash-up! A classic if ever there was one! And the roller-skating dancers were unbelievably fantastic too! When Madonna did her dance on the catwalk I was deafened from the screams - what a mover! And I loved the way the curtain looked as though it was rotating with the red arrows flying around on stage revealing the dancers behind it.
Erotica/You Thrill Me was surprisingly 'beaty' (i invented that word just now - feel free to use it!) and the choreography was beuatiful too - I spotted some women copying the moves in the asile near me - if you're on here, nice one ladies! Complete respect to you all!
Las Isla Bonita - what a fab remix! Very Latino - and the screens were beautiful too - I think I popped out a hip trying to wiggle it (bet the view from the row behind me was unforgettable at this point - the shame of my dancing....)
And then Lucky Star started up and Madonna showed off her illuminated clock - what a star indeed! And it was nice to see Donna and Nicki finally as I had been wondering when they were going to come out from the back of the stage where they'd seemed to be hiding all night. There's something about seeing the three of them together on stage that makes it magical, don't you think?
Madonna then shouted 'Do you want to hear some more?!' Oooh, no, no more please your Madgesty - I need my mug of Horlicks and my knitting pattern is waiting on my bedside table....Yes! More more more please! (Oooh, sounds rather saucy, Matron!)
And down comes the globe once again, the entire arena is filled with lights and Hung Up kicks in. The crowd goes insane and before I know it, it's the audience singalong - not as loud as I was hoping for, but I think that's because the volume of the concert was so loud anyway, we couldn't make ourselves heard over the band!
The balloons fell, both myself and my mate caught one each and 'Have You Confessed?' appeared. The end. I left the arena looking like i'd entered the wet t-shirt competitiong at some seedy nightspot, but i didn't care. Hell, I'm, proud of my nips and they were there to be seen through my white shirt! My hair looked as though I'd covered it with a year's worth of gel and then i looked around to see everyone else looking the same - if you weren't drenched in sweat you must've been standing still for the entire show.

From Debs:
I have been a fan since I was 10 years old, all the way back in 1984. I have been lucky enough to get to see her on each tour since The Blonde Ambition (at Wembley stadium) back in the summer of 1990. It really doesn't matter what she does in my eyes and she has been an inspiration to me and (as odd as this sounds) given me strength (whilst listening to her music) at difficult times in my life.
Well, Madonna! As per the norm an outstanding performance from the Queen of Pop herself, I never doubted that.
Things I liked....
The stage layout was fantastic. She has never had the runway before (not that long anyway) and also two smaller runways going up the side of the stage. These enabled her to really get a great rapport with her fans, the one's that were lucky enough to get seats that close.
Her dancers. OMG! If only I could dance like that. I would give anything. They are amazing!
Her dancing....as always. She never fails to strut her funky stuff and the audience go wild for her.
Her voice....was strong and unwavering (considering how energetic she was).
Show highlights had to be 'Music' and 'Hung Up'. Her dancing and dancers were just out of this world. In Music when she did the dance moves from Saturday Night Fever, WOW! that was really, really good. The show ended with Hung Up and it was awesome. The light show that went with it and the huge disco ball set it off!
The atmosphere!
Things I liked less....
Too much video action going on behind the stage. Your eyes sometimes didn't know where to look.
Too long between costume changes. OK so, yes we were still entertained with video footage and the dancers but we could have squeezed another couple of tracks from her in that time.
The seating plan-out relevant to the cost of the tickets. If I had paid £160 and been stuck at the back I wouldn't be happy! I paid the £110 price and were three quarters of the way back. I really didn't mind because Id actually managed to get tickets the day they went on sale (which at the time I thought I wouldn't get them at all which has happened before and I had to get them from another source) and was just happy to be going but still.
I took my binoculars as knew I was near the back and so, these came out a good few times and I got to see her properly. I could have watched the whole thing through them but I couldn't dance and hold them very well together.
It was flipping hot in there!
Too few old songs. Now, I know this wasn't going to be a 'greatest hits' tour I knew that. But the few oldies she did, changed tempo, some more than others -
1) Like a Virgin - which actually wasn't changed too much. I really liked this and the bronco stylie thing was wicked!
2) Live To Tell - was fantastic! The Pope needs to get out more if he finds this blasphemous. Nuff said!
3) Ray of Light - again not too much change. She played guitar and this to me is still a bit strange but she really is quite good.
4) Drowned World - Slightly changed tempo
5) Erotica - Very much changed. I actually didn't realise at first which song it was. I thought the dance routine complimented the new tempo really well. Still, I would have liked to here it in its raw state.
6) La Isla Bonita - Changed tempo again.
7) Lucky star - Changed slightly but enough for me not to get to into it and this is one of my favourite tracks of all time and I was SO looking forward to hearing her sing this. I loved the spangley cape she wore.
No encore!
I am a huge fan and yes it was worth the money as the production that goes into it is awesome and you cant really appreciate it unless you see it. However, I wish she had left the old songs as they are meant to sound and not jazzed them up. I would liked to have heard at least 'Into The Groove' and this would have gone with the 'Disco' theme superbly.
Bar from those little things it was a great night out. If I had the money I would go again but I didn't come away with that longing feeling that I've had from the last two tours. I love her new material but im a die hard oldskool fan at heart but all in all she still floats my boat baby!

From Ian:
Like the Tuesday show at Wembley, Madonna said to her fans again tonight how good it is to be home. She said she didn't like England when she first came here. 'But that's a metaphor for life. You have to understand something before you can appreciate it.'

From Joanne:
Went to the 3rd August Gig, what can I say but Absolutely Brilliant. Before the Queen herself appeared there were pandemonium in the arena, 10 minutes before the show starts who should walk in but Posh herself Victoria Beckham, minus David. Everyone were going mad to get to her (I'm sure people thought David was there). She stood 3 rows from the end of the catwalk.
Then Came The Queen herself, what an entrance, she looked amazing. Where does she get all that energy from? The crowd loved every minute of it, I know I did, can't wait to see her again when she returns next week. The arena security were alot better, they left you alone to enjoy snapping away with your camera's.
The merchandise prices all went up by a fiver from the Cardiff gig!

From Paul:
Hugely excited about the prospect of seeing Madonna up-close (I'd managed to get tickets in block A4, seven rows from the front - the best view in the five tours I've seen her perform).
Slight panic set in when we arrived in the arena and realised our seats where missing (we would have been sitting somewhere under her 'Like A Virgin' mechanical horse carousel).
Amazing, we got upgraded to the VERY FRONT ROW and I positioned myself in the corner, between stage and catwalk, right at the bottom of the steps (Anyone with tickets for A4 and A2 at the ends of the row (64/65) may be in for a fantastic surprise.
Unbelievable view! SO close....probably too close at times - the huge screens were wasted on us and when she performed at the end of the catwalk, I could barely see her. All I could see of 'Jump' was dancers leaping over my head (can't wait to see a DVD to see how that should have looked).
Fantastic atmosphere at the front, everyone was really friendly and up-for-it.
Highlight....during 'Drowned World/Substitiute For Love' when she sat on the stairs barely two metres from me, she fixed her gaze on me and sang 'The face of you, my substitute for love'. I sang to her, best I could, with tears welling up in my eyes and shivers down my spine. And she seemed far too familiar with my friend - he got LOADS of winks, kisses blown at him, thumbs up....AND she touched him - I was very jealous of him to get so much attention!
I've got a cracking bruise on my arm from where the roller-skating ramp toppled over and trapped my arm against the crash barrier. A small price to pay! THANK YOU MADONNA - you were truly amazing - I'll never forget the concert and my up-close experience.

From Rob:
I travelled down to London last night to see Madonna. This was the third time I have seen Madonna live since 1993 with various tours.
Madonna just did not stop. I loved the stage set up and the Video screens were placed perfectly. Love the one that went around the band on stage. The images displayed were fantastic and also very poignant. Especially during Live To Tell. After the song Madonna stated 'People just talk the talk rather than walk the walk' this was said after pictures of George Bush, Tony Bliar and current troubled video of the world were shown. The message was clear. We need to make a real and lasting difference!
This was so evident with the dance routine and tattoo's upon the abdomens of the two male dancers. One wore the Israeli Star of David and the other the Arabic Crescent Moon. Hopefully one day soon those differences will be realised, accepted and a lasting peace found.
The set was an excellent mix of new and old. I loved the reworking of Erotica. Disco Inferno raised the roof as did all of the dance tracks. The songs move from a slower pace to dance with ease and the crowd just loved it. I left the gig with my throat, hands and feet throbbing from all the singing, clapping and dancing. The place was jumping literally. The choreography and costumes are awesome. The whole entourage of band and dancers worked their asses off for Madonna and the crowd. The result is a none stop roller coaster of a show. Packed with tons of atmosphere.
My only complaint and this has nothing to do with the show or songs, was the heat. No air conditioning appears to have present in the arena. I think I left a few pounds lighter. It was a little uncomfortable. I don't know how Madonna, the band and dancers lasted. But I'm glad they did.
If anyone has tickets for this tour then you are in for a treat. Enjoy. If you don't and have the chance, get some!

From Vicky:
It was two years since I saw Madonna at Wembley, and, what can I say she just gets better and better, it was a fantastic show, just wish it never ended.
The crowd was hyper and fuelled more so by Madonna, she just knows how to turn on a crowd, after 22 years she has, and always will have what it takes to be an excellent performer.
Wembley was sold out last night and is for the rest of her dates there with fans stalking the gates for tickets on each night.
My confession to Madonna is I wish I had tickets for each of her tour dates she blew me away, after 22years of being a devoted fan, she never disappoints, I`ll always stay devoted, she is the absolute best.

Tuesday 09 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Barry:
Just got back from the Wembley show and boy what a show. I am on such a high. Madonna was great as normal.
After Let It Will Be she said 'Are you pleased to have me back?' Madonna said they had just got back from Rome but pleased to be back in London. She made us all repeat after her 'Oh yeah' in a sexy tone.
My high's were Let It Will Be , Music, Like A Virgin. It was great to hear Lucky Star. During Lucky Star she told someone off for throwing shit on her stage.
Going back tomorrow. Can't wait.

From Chris:
I saw Madonna at Wembley on the 9th of August with my partner David. We had a brilliant time just as I though we would. It was my second time seeing her live on stage. It was David's very first ever live show. I told him that if he was going to see any artist live for the first time then he may as well make it the biggest and most spectacular individual on the planet.
He loved the show and came away feeling like he was a part of something that could never be replicated by anyone else. The closeness we had with her from being right next to the catwalk. How surreal it was to see this tiny little woman belting out classics that I have grown up listening to. While at the same time thinking that she is human just like the rest of us. How can a woman like Madonna carry so much energy and be able to give it back to 12,000 screaming fans as easy as she does?! She makes it look so simple.
David was not always a fan (in the sense that I am) when I met him. Being able to her like that live, brought a new appreciation for her. I could see on his face the amazement of being so close to her in the flesh. It was a great feeling for me to see as well. This woman that we see in the papers and on the TV was right there....close enough to touch. The feeling is remarkable. It also makes you realize that she is just like the rest of us. It was great to hear her laugh and joke with us as well. Something like that brings a bit more to any show she does.
We both left Wembley feeling excitement and amazement at what we had just witnessed. Also feeling a bit empty because the show was over and we found it very hard to think anything but what we had just experienced.
We are both looking forward too seeing her again!

From Edmund:
I have been a fan since 1984 and I flew all the way from Singapore to London Wembley on 9 Aug 06 to catch hold of this sizzling, hot (Yes the Arena is HOT HOT HOT!) and highly entertaining performance.
Again Madonna did not disappoint despite the fact that it took me 13 hours to fly and see her live again and possibly her last tour (which I hope will not be though!).
The best bit is definitely Jump, Sorry, Like A Virgin and the finale medley of songs before she ends with Hung Up....'time goes by so slowly....time goes by so slowly....' it keeps ringing in me and my friend’s head while we walked out the Arena and we were humming to it continuously.
The highly priced ticket was definitely worth every cent....and we wish that time really goes by slowly....Madonna....you have put on a Great Show!

From Jase:
My best mate and I were soooo late getting to Wembley. We rushed into the arena to find it deserted - everybody was already in.
As we walked in I could hear and feel the buzz of the crowd, what had we missed? We were so lucky....the screens had just lit up, the crowd released a cheer. The disco ball that contained Madonna was slowly moving into place and we knew that we had arrived just in time....
From the minute Madonna appeared until the last note of Hung Up the show was amazing. Madonna's voice has never sounded so good - apart from Get Together. We didn't mind that though, Madonna knows we don't go just for her voice. It's the whole show - the drama, the art, the theatre, the dancing, the music - HER! It was an amazing show - a fun show.
I think of the three I have seen over the past five years (DWT, RIT and Confessions) last night was more reminiscent of the Madonna we all grew up with, the Madonna that likes make you think, the Madonna that pushes your buttons, the Madonna that inspired so many of us in eighties and nineties.
I have been a very lucky man, last night was the fourth time I have seen Madonna live - it may be the last! Part of me wants her to go on forever, part of me wants to remember her at her at her best. But when was that? When I saw in 1990 at Wembley Stadium? Surely not when it took me eleven years to see her again during the DWT - though what a feast that show was.
That's the problem - Madonna constantly raised the bar, changes the rules. Just when I think she cannot do it again - she does! So I guess I'll remember last night for what it was - a fantastic show, an amazing night....and if she does go on tour again, well we'll just have to see.
BTW - I was the guy running through the fountain in just my boxers! (Madonna made me).

From Jeff:
I too was at Wembley last night. God they've done some rennovations to that place.
Madonna was hot last night. Even though we were way up in the gods she was still amazing.
Last week we were in the gold circle at Cardiff, three feet away from our idol, what a pleasure.
Although almost as good as Blond Ambition in Paris years ago....
That woman gets better and better. A few week spots in the show but still worth every penny. Even if the nxt time around she charges £300 per ticket I will be there.

From Marc:
Oh my God, had the most amazing time at the 3rd night at wembley following her trip to Rome. The crowd was fantastic....I really don't think I have seen such an excited crowd. To which Madonna loved and really played up to them.
She was very chatty and told London they should be offended by 'I Love New York' and said she always loves playing in London as she always get such a good crowd and she certainly did last night.
Highlights toooo many! Like A Virgin! Music! Sorry! Live To Tell! Hung Up!
Great night....she is still the queen....Thank god I have tickets for Paris too!

From Marilyn:
When she was sitting on the stairs she said she was hot (she was in front of a blowing fan), but with the air conditioning on, she was cold, and she's never pleased either way and that's the problem with her life! She was taking the mick out of herself.
Then she was given a plastic lint roller by her crew and said, 'if you exorcise your demons onstage, over there, as I do, every night, then you get this' and there was dirt all over her knees. She started to clean it off and said, 'and they give me this piece of sh*t', and then, when she was done, 'Because presentation is everything'.
Also around the time she played I Love New York she said something like, 'I was in Rome a few days ago. Played a Stadium there - a LOT of people. I love Rome, but it's not London.' And the crowd CHEERED!

From Tim:
My partner Tom and myself were at Wembley last night to see Lady M herself, and all I can say (with a very hoarse voice) is WOW! We were in Block B3, Row 3 – right in front of the end of the catwalk – and they were amazing seats.
I can’t pinpoint one single highlight of the show....Was it when the Disco ball 'landed' just feet away from us – and our host for the evening appeared before us? Or maybe 'Ray Of Light' which blew me away and got me jumping up and down like a mad man possessed....Or was it when she was doing her amazing 'Saturday Night Fever' dance routine with the two female dancers during Music?
I could go on and on and on....but for fear that my voice will disappear completely, I’ll shut up now!

Wednesday 10 August - Wembley Arena, London

from Brian:
Was pretty much blown away by the show despite having been to every tour since Blond Ambition and this was probably helped by the fact that we had prime seats in block B3 in the second row right at the end of the catwalk. We were actually sitting behind Trudi Styler which was nice.
Madonna also pointed the mic right at me for what seemed like ages at the end of Hung up when she gets everyone to sing 'Time goes by so slowly' - a great highlight to a great night.

From James:
I have just got in after an amazing night! I was in row 12 of block B4. The evening started with Will Young walking past me on his way to his seat....
The show started and Madonna appeared directly in front of me out of the mirror ball. I was so close to her I could see every muscle in her face. She was on top form and looked fresh and full of energy.
Throughout the show she kept looking at my tshirt which I had made just for the show and gave me eye contact on several occasions.
The most fantastic part of night was when she took a pink cowboy hat off of one of the audience members to then throw it straight in the crowd in favour of a blue cowboy hat that someone else was wearing....it was very funny!
Madonna then put on the blue hat, walked down the catwalk towards me and the threw the hat out into the crowd, I reached out as far as I could and the hat landed in my hands. A few people then tried to grab it off me but there was not a hope in hells chance that I was going to let it go. I stood there for a minute in shock that I now own a hat worn by Madonna.
The rest of the show was a blur as I was so emotional. Madonna really is the queen of pop, rock and my life.

From Lisa:
We saw Madonna last night and her show was flawless, absolutely amazing despite her saying she was tired as she was getting no sleep. She told us all she was having some reconstruction done at home 'in stereo' which was keeping her from sleeping.
She went on to say, 'and I got up this morning and I was soooo tired, and I said to myself, f**k, I'm not doing my show, I'm too tired, But then I come here and see all your smiling faces and the love that you show....'
What an amazing night. Managed to grab an action shot as she took someones hat from the audience, danced around a bit, then threw it back out to some lucky person.

From Merboy2k:
The show was amazing, it is the second time I saw her and was right next to the catwalk this time, Forbidden Love, Ray Of Light and Paradise (Not For Me) stick out the most for me.
She also stated that she only had 3 hours sleep the night before and woke up thinking she couldn't do the show that night, but after feeling all the love and energy from everyone it got her through.
She also saw a tattoo of herself on someones arm and commented on his dedication to her.
For a woman of her age to have so much energy should inspire us all, worth every penny, an amazing show and experience!

From Robin:
When we got to our seats we realised that only two people were sat in row two, competion winners not turned up perhaps? Well naturally we moved forward and OMG I glad we did. During Get together I had a lot of eye contact with Madonna, she smiled I screamed! I really wanted her to notice my tattoos of her so I kindly asked the couple on the end of the row if I could squeeze in, they said yes....thankyou!
When Madonna had finished let it will be I KNEW IT WAS NOW OR NEVER! She started telling us about the sleepless night she had had etc....then the two guys in front of me grabbed my arm and started shouting and waving my arm to my surprise Madonna got up and walked over! 'This guy has tattoos of me all over his body....you're mad! That's devotion for you....thanks!' Thankyou to everyone who helped me especially the two guys and a big thankyou to Madonna for acknowledging me!
I attended the 12th and 13th shows and wondered did she recognise me again? I believe she did! Hope everyone else enjoyed their shows, Long Live The QUEEN.

From Suzanne:
Another great show, had fantastic seats and managed to get up to the barrier! Wasn't surprised when she announced she was tired part way through the show, for the first few songs she looked exhausted but with the crowd, gained a shed load of energy.
She definitely likes to flirt with the men, especially on the front row, come on Madge, equal love for us gals too!

Saturday 12 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Darren:
Oh my God, what a fantastic show last night! I had the best seats I had ever had, dead centre 3 rows back from the main catwalk. What a night....
Her energy, her love. She just puts everybody to shame....
Also another highlight was just 4 seats away where Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. Gwyneth was really cool talking to everybody nearby, she was singing to most of the songs and you could tell that her favourite songs were Forbidden Love and Ray Of Light.
Chris did start laughing when Madonna came out on the cross but apart from that you could tell he was more interested in the music side rather than the songs.
Can't wait till Wednesday now when it will be both my last Confession tour and her Birthday, so you know it's going to be a night to remember.

From Emma:
Still the show rocked although people around us weren’t in the dancing mood, mainly couples and people who must have worked in the industry, or got freebies.
Well me and my sister danced our bums off (not as much as Madonna does – she the pics – her bum is amazing;) and really enjoyed the show – I just wish Madonna could have seen it!
Mind you one of the dancers at the end during hung up – a dark haired girl – really pretty with a black bikini top on – winked and smiled at me as she saw me dancing away! The dancers rocked – so amazing as always!

From Fiona:
WOW! What can I say? My friend Ravi and I had 3rd row tickets in block A2 to last night's show at Wembley! When the lights went down we rushed with everyone else to the front of the stage and stayed there all night long where we danced, sang/screamed and jumped up and down till were about to PASS OUT!
If you're ever lucky enough to see Madonna in the flesh you will see how beautiful she is, her skin is flawless and so radiant.
We had black T shirts made with white writing saying 'Confessions of a 3rd row Ho' but we were lucky enough to be Madonna's front row bitches that night.
The funniest thing happened just when Madonna was being raised up on the cross. Someone next to us dropped their guts and farted! I really thought I wasn't going to Live To Tell but it really reeked and I was laughing but had to try and stop myself from giggling in this most poignant moment (I hope Madge didn't smell it or see me laugh!)
Anyway, she told us how it was her son Rocco's 6th birthday the day before and everyone cheered. She said how she wondered what kind of world he'll be living in when he grows up and commented on how there were 12,000 people in the audience from different backgrounds all over the world come together here. (Before her speech she also got out that lint roller thing to collect any lint from her black trousers).
We also noticed Madonna's make up man (the one from the Reinvention documentary) appearing for brief periods in front of us, watching her - I think he must have been checking on any hair or make up touch ups - she also throws her sunglasses to him in Hung Up. He was very friendly when we tapped him on the shoulder and laughed when we showed him our T shirts.
If you haven't seen Confessions yet, get your fitness levels up and be prepared to jump up and down for 2 hours. My friend and I were dripping with sweat and we were only 3 songs into the show! I was about to keel over after Ray Of Light but somehow I made it through and was lucky enough to have Madonna thrust her mike into my face during Hung Up! My voice was completely gone by that stage and all I managed to do was scream the words out with my sweaty face all screwed up, screaming back at Madonna with bits of spit flying out of my mouth. She must have thought I was such a beast!
I can't believe it's all over now.Madonna gave us her all as usual and we gave it our all back to her and so now I'm quietly spending my Sunday in bed with sore feet and hoarse throat lamenting and wondering where do I go from here?

From George:
We originally was at the end of the row and managed to sneak to the front of the catwalk! At one point she looked down at us and laughed at us cause we was singing so loud and jumping up so much. She also said that she had celebrated Rocco's birthday the night before and was worried about what the world was going to be like when he grows up.
Also sitting a few rows to the right of us was Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, who Madonna made eye contact with and smiled and waved on various occassions. The whole atmospere was amazing and am so glad I hade the opportunity to get to the front of the catwalk. The only bad thing I thought was around six people at the front of the catwalk, B3 row 1, who stood there with their arms crossed. It was so sad to think that so many Madonna fans would have made better use of these seats and they could have easily had seats towards the back!

From Shane:
What a fantastic show. I though the Re-Invention Tour was unreal but the Confessions Tour is fantastic. How does she keep getting better and better.
She was very chatty and giggly with the crowd. She hurt her elbow and was none too pleased with the meagre symjpathy she got from the audicence.
I felt that the show was even more political than the Re-Invention show and must say that I can see Madonna becoming a major player in world politics in the next few years. I can see her Re-inventing herself as a peacemaker in our troubled world. United we stand.
Her energy on Saturday night was something else. I cant believe how agile she is and never gets out of breath. She is an example to us all. The staging of the show was spectacular and the energy that came from the crowd when the disco ball came down was incredible.
I feel privelidged to have witnessed a true star. I am proud to be a Madonna fan. Twenty years on and still going strong.

Sunday 13 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Atanes:
After months awaiting for tonight....at last arrived....but she seemed to be a little bit cold last night....and by the way....I been reading the reviews for the last two months here on madonnalicious....and I have to say that tonight's speech was just saying what she said before....she made though a great performance.....money worth it!

From Danielle:
Madonna may have just turned 48 years old, but I have no doubt that the queen of pop will effortlessly - and spectacularly - be strutting her stuff for many more years to come.
Having witnessed her amaizng Confessions Tour at jampacked Wembley Arena, theres no doubting the versatility and variety of this blonde bomshell.
For example. marvel at her grand entrance, magically emerging from a giant sparkling disco ball during her Future Lovers number, or gasp as Madge rises like a pheonix from the ashes, suspended on a giant crucifix (something wich caused much controversy during her time in Rome.)
This pop icon is like a perpetual firework, dancing, prancing, fizzing. gyrating and captivating the vast audience with enought energy to power a steam train. Not only can she sing - she can dance a bit too!
Belting out songs such as Jump, Ray of Light, Like A Virgin, I Love New York and Issac, she performs each number in perfect synchronisation with her backing dance group.
Such is Madonna's memorising shock-and-roll stage show, that she has the crowd whipped up into a frenzy long before the finale. There were alot of expectations surrounding this tour, but Madonna dosent disapoint - she exudes charm throughout the Wembley show, captivating all with her magnetism until the arena is awsh with cries of 'we want more!'.
Following the grande finale , the show finished with the words 'Have you confessed?' emblazoned on a giant backing screen. I confess. seeing is believing - Madonna is a real star, and worth every single penny that she charges people to see her.

From Dil:
Last nights show was brilliant! Her little chat after 'Let It Will Be' last night was about the guys in the front row that did not seem to be deliriously happy to be there. Madonna asked them 'Did you get free tickets? I like to see smiling happy people in my front row!' I would have killed to be standing where they were!
Then Madonna gave out about the smokers that did not stop smoking through the entire performance 'It fucks up my throat! Fuckers!'
Her Dancing Queen cape didn’t flash as it should have – this made her smile sheepishly!

From Flavio:
I went yesterday to Madonna's concert in Wembley and I'm still shaking! She asked the audience twice to stop smoking that it was damaging her throat. She was very relaxed but seemed tired (but still gorgeous).
Some people were complaining that she sang few old songs, but I knew all of them. I loved 'Live To tell', 'Jump' and 'Paradise (Not For Me)', but I was disappointed with 'Erotica' and 'Let It Will Be' as these were my high expectations. Quite sad that 'Push' wasn't in the set list, but I knew before hand.
Anyway, I had a great time and I could pay twice more to see the concert. And f**** who didn't like it. Madonna is definitely the 'Dancing Queen'.

From Vicki:
I just wanted to share this with you....after an awesome night with Our Lady last Thursday - right up close - it was fabulous and amazing - she is so pretty!
I was a bit peeved that I never caught a balloon at the end - I was quite close but it was snatched away by some guy much taller than myself - then I saw people with handfuls of balloons - THEN I saw them ending up on ebay! Not happy!
Anyway - I went back for second helpings tonight (Sunday) and Our Lady was on form - telling the smokers off (rightly so!) and saying people at the front looked like they were standing at a 'fucking snack bar!' Very amusing - she did look pissed off though!
My seat tonight was nowhere near a balloon so it was with a sigh that I saw people with handfuls of them etc etc and made my way home. On the train I was looking at the tour book (which is lovely) and a French guy sat down, we get chatting about Madonna - he is going to Paris and said he hoped that they had the merchandise carrier bags I said I am sure they would but gave him mine anyway. Then he went to his bag and gave me a ticket holder that was given out on the first night at Wembley!
I was so so thrilled as I had been looking out for them without luck. My faith in human nature is restored - I never got his name but I just wanted to say THANKYOU, it ended the evening perfectly and I hope he enjoys Paris!

Tuesday 15 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Alex:
I went to watch madonna last night at Wembley Arena. It is the first time I had seen her live and I had never seen anything like it before, it was amazing.
Her voice was great, her dancing was the best I had every seen. I am only 14 and madonna but Madonna is my idol, I took months saving for the £110 tickets and I would have payed alot more for them if I knew the show would have been that good.
When the first set of lights went down the crowd was going wild, the lights then went completely out and she appeared on the screen, the disco ball drifted to the ground and opened, it was amazing to see her for the first time.
Through out the show i was on my feet dancing, clapping, jumping and singing, I didn't sit down once even in the slower songs like Live To Tell and Paradise (Not For Me). My favorite parts were when she sang her classic Like A Virgin and also Sorry.
I wish I was closer to the front but my seat was great I thought I would be so far away but when we got in we were close.
When Hung Up came on everyone was screaming and danicng, it was amazing the floor felt like it was going to cave in, The huge disco ball came down again this time rotationg and sending light all over the arena, the balloons feel and it was the end of the show, I am desperate to go again, and I am definitely going to see her next tour! I couldn't sleep last night because it was so amazing. Well Done Madonna! You are ace!

From Awneyx:
I've heard it all before? I don't think so! This is the tour where, after mass audience pleasing Reinvention Tour, Madonna took care of her fans. This was Confessions on a Dance Floor - LIVE! I sat five rows from the end of the middle catwalk, a couple of seats along from Jason Stratham and his new beau. Guy Oseary kept buzzing around. Non stop dance madness and I nearly passed out from dancing so much. It was so hot but sooooooooooooooooo worth it. Worth every penny. I'd pay 10 times that to see her tomorrow on her birthday!
She apologised for the cameras, saying she would make it up to us. And she delivered.
Ok, she's 48 tomorrow and her routines aren't exactly as manic as they used to be. But she danced like a lunatic, as did the audience. Everyone vibing off of everybody else. Stupendous. Fabulosa. The idiots in front of us walked out half way through. They don't know what they missed! My partner hates Madonna and I force him along every time. He leaves with the biggest smile on his face. He LOVED it! Ha Ha. M for President!
New dance routine - You heard it here first from me. Copyright Awneyx! In I Love New York, hold your arms up in the air and bend the right one to touch your left elbow to form the 'N'. Then hold both arms out to form the 'Y' then out to the side to form the 'C' and preferably in time with the music. I did it and Cloud smiled at it. I hope it catches on!

From Jason N And Jason W:
We've just come back from our third outing with Madonna during this tour. Our seats this time were in D4. Amazing, just a few feet from our Icon, who winked, waved and smiled at us at least four times during the show.
They were filming tonight, so fans were set a little back from the stage. Still fantastic though, and judging by the number of times the film cameras passed us filming into the crowd, we may even be on the tour DVD.
You have to wonder though, why some people who are not serious fans of Our Lady bother to buy tickets in what is the front row. We were next to two who didn't move, wave or even smile during the entire performance.
Still, it probably made the way we were screaming and shouting stand out all the more, which is why we got so much interaction from Madonna. She was flawless. Singing and dancing was out of this world.
We have officially lost our voices now with all the screaming and shouting we did. Fave bits: Disco Inferno mix of Music, we funked our heads off; Sorry and when she emerged out of the glitter ball at the start of the show, and gave us both a wink.
Her talk was longer too, she thanked her entire backstage crew and then her fans. There's no one in the world who can make us scream and shout so much, and experience true euphoria. Thank you so much Madonna. We love you.

From Mark:
Madonna was hot last night and on terrific form. The energy and enthusiasm she put into her performance was inspiring. She was also very chatty with the crowd commenting on the film camera's and crew who were recording the show for a future broadcast, she apologised if they were proving a nuisance and promised to make it up to us.
She also at one point lay down on the stage for a few minutes rest saying she needed it. She gave a big speech thanking her band and the people who put the show together and gave a really touching speech thanking her fans loyalty and energy. She was clearly exhausted by the end of the show but was having the time of her life.

Wednesday 16 August - Wembley Arena, London

From Aman:
Had an AMAZING time at the final show in london. I've seen madonna 6 times now, but my all time favourite tour is the BLOND AMBITION TOUR. It was nice seeing Donna and one of the dancers singing 'Happy Birthday' with the audience - but what happened to the cake? Also being a BIG TIME MADONNA FAN - it would have been nice if she could have said 'Goodnight London' as people were wondering if there is an encore.

From Fernando:
Madonna was TOP-NOTCH! Her energy was UNREAL! Her performance was TIMELESS! The arena was full of love, excitement and pandemonium!
From beginning to start, Madonna gave us all that she had on her birthday. After Let It Will Be, we all began to sing HAPPY BDAY to her and then came along Nicki and Donna who led us into a FULL SING ALONG....
Our front row section BLOCK A2 was the MOST ENERGETIC AND CRAZY section of the arena....GOOD GOING MATES!
Madge and I made FULL FULL contact throughout the entire show, SPECIFICALLY, when she sang I LOVE NEW YORK! She recognized her fellow New Yorker in the front row....the original 'In Madonna We Trust' shirt made it’s personal debut in London in which it received a very warm welcome from all fans and spectators.
Thank you London for such a wonderful experience and thank you Madonna for an UNFORGETTABLE moment in my life....

From Jeremy:
Madonna didn’t make it on stage until about 9.10pm but the crowd amused itself with a small happy birthday chant and the middle floor section cheered as all around us the N and S blocks did a Mexican wave. I was lucky enough to be 2 seats from the catwalk and it was hotter than hell all night long.
When the disco ball opened it was just madness. I’ve never been to a Madonna concert before and this was like some bizarre epiphany for me. I am not religious but this is the closest thing I have ever witness to a truly religious moment. When she rose on the cross it was just profound.
The crowd was hot all night for her. Girls in the usual wedding dresses and cowboy hats....even young kids were at the show.
The one thing that amazed both myself and the person I went with was just how simply amazing she looks in real life. She has the arse and thighs of a woman half her age and at no point did she have a wrinkle. My moment of the night was when less than 2 metres from me she crouched and sang 'Time goes by....' before putting the mic out into the crowd. She was so close I could see the diamonds on her eyelashes. It was like a thousand magazine photos staring back at me...but there isn’t an airbrush in the world that could make her look as good as she does face to face.
Finally I want to say thank you to all the people I met. So many different fans from so many different places and each one just so friendly. The people who had seen her loads of times before were quick to reassure me that it was good and I’d enjoy myself and the whole event just felt like one big Madonna love in. So I guess that the 12,000 people around me made the night just as memorable as Madonna herself. If you haven’t seen her before then I would encourage you to try and catch her next time around.

From Jeyan:
Birthday Show was a truly amazing and flawless spectacle. Madonna had an even happier mood than her August 15th gig. She smiled a lot - and she was all smiles during Live to Tell. She interacted more with the audience, touched the fans on both sides of the catwalk during Get Together.
I was relocated from B2 Row 3 to A2 Row 11 - right next to catwalk. Row 11 is usually a great spot as she sings Jump, Isaac, Get Together right in front of Row 11, letting us absorb her energy and eternal beauty.
I spotted Jamie Oliver in the audience, first row on the upper part. He was on his feet all night long, clapping and dancing.
On August 15th I noticed that the cowboy hat trick during Let It Will Be was a fix in the cheorography since the pale Madonna dancer (Jump, Music....) was ushered to the front row with a decent outfit and the cowboy hat. Madonna picked another cowboy hat from the other side. On August 16th show, she picked a hat from left side of the catwalk, but to my surprise she also got the blue hat from the girl just next to me - on the right side of the catwalk.

From John:
I have just turned 28 and I have had the most amazing birthday ever. I went to see Madonna at Wembley on the 16th (her birthday too!) and it was my first Madonna concert ever. We were about metre away from her the whole time she was at the front of the catwalk!
What an amazing concert and to top it all off Tracey Emin was 6ft away from us, I cant believe I have seen these two amazing women in the same night! During 'Like It Or Not' she pointed to Tracey when she sang 'You be the garden and I'll be the snake' and Tracey put her hands up in the air and gave out a cheer!
Madonna also pointed at me and my mate, i think maybe cause i was wearing a Happy Birthday Madonna T-shirt! What an energetic, brilliant performance, Its a birthday I will never forget!

From Suneil:
I’ve been to see Madonna before but August 16th was just something else man!
I’d been bragging about my A2 seat location for weeks and weeks and I have to say it was just the ideal seat location ever! Madonna was so close up to me I was numb for a few minutes, it was so bizarre to have her that close and I looked up at her and thought gosh is this the woman I’ve so been in love with for the majority of my life?!
She is incredibly beautiful, does not look 48 at all, her hair and diamond-eyes looked amazing, her moves were crazy, that gurl can dance y’know! 'Music' especially; wow that really blew me away! One thing that really outraged me was the fact that so many folks in A2 were just standing there with their hands in their pockets, not realising how lucky they were to be at the front, the couple behind me looked at me like I was some nutter…standing there totally shocking out for Madge and the cameras!
The moment when Nikki and Donna got us to sing Happy Birthday to Madge was really moving and no I didn’t cry thank you! But honestly, it just bought it all back; M means such a great deal to me and it was a major honour to be a part of her birthday. I couldn’t get over how beautiful she is in person though y’know, so fit and what an arse; her arse was literally in my face during Like A Virgin, man I wanted to slap it hard! Erm....and there were plenty of fit girls in the audience as well!
However it finished all too quickly cos’ after months of anticipation and preparation it felt as though it was over way too soon! I felt so discontented when it all ended and I missed her quite a bit on the tube back out of Wembley to Uxbridge.
I would truthfully say that the whole show was a major highlight, my cousin and I loved each and every performance, and Drowned World, Paradise and Isaac were terrific! The dancers were remarkable; don’t know how they do it every night! Oh well, got myself a programme, a few posters, badge-set and a t-shirt; managed to get two balloons as well so I was well chuffed, an unforgettable night....I want more!

From Vicky:
I was at Madonna's birthday concert last night and Madonna, the show, her performers and the crowd were absolutely fantastic. I went to the 3rd August concert and just had to go again, especially as it was Madonna's birthday. We sang Happy Birthday to her and she loved it, she said she could'nt think of a better way or place to celebrate her birthday.
I bought the special edition birthday t-shirt and many fans wore birthday hats and banners, I thought the show last time was fantastic but this time it was special, my feet are sore from dancing and I still feel high, I can't believe how much energy Madonna has and when she says she is putting on a show, what can I say she really means it, from the moment she emerged from the disco ball the whole arena was in awe, screaming, singing, dancing and jumping until it ended. Madonna you rock! Don't ever stop!
Television crews also filmed the show, so can't wait for that, so my memories from last night can be lived again.
