Saturday 16 September - Kyocera Dome, Osaka

From Dee:
No words could really describe the experience of being at one of the concerts of Madonna. The first Madonna concert in Japan after 13 years was very, very cool. the entire stadium turned into a really one gigantic disco house.
The prices range from 500,000-100,000 (roughly $5,000-$1,000) for auction tickets (seats near the stage); 50,000 yen (roughly $500) for floor tickets; $14,000 (roughly $140) for second floor seats; and $11,000 (roughly $110) for third floor tickets.
The concert was packed with Madonna fans even with these prices. Madonna is really being loved in Japan. There are still 3 more concerts and word from the local official ticketing company, is that all the scheduled shows are sold out.
Unlike in the other places she has performed, the seats near the stage were roughly 2 meters away. This was a standard Japanese safety precautionary measures which made Madonna not really happy. She told everyone at the concert to write to the city mayor and the government of Japan to change this law.
She really wanted to wanted to be with her fans. With this, she decided to go down this precautionary space and shook hands with some of the fans. In the middle of her shaking hands thing, she read a note from a newly-wed. The note says 'We are newly-weds, please give us a message.' At first she didn't know what to do, but she gathered up and told the husband to 'learn to say sorry.' And the rest of the crowd really went wild.

From Rob:
My wife Josy and I travelled to Osaka from Australia to see Madonna in concert. The show exceeded all my expectations. We had premium tickets (costing us 50,000 yen each) so our seats were three rows from the catwalk. It started off by meeting and having a chat with her manager, Guy Oseary, before the show began. He was taking random photos in the crowd and took one of us too. He mentioned that she will definitely tour in Australia next time.
To be noticed in the crowd I brought with me a blow up kangaroo, which paid off. During the show she jumped off the stage to get closer to the crowd, she said 'Hi' to a few people before coming over to us and saying 'What's this all about?' I said 'This is a kangaroo and we are from Australia!'. She took it and went back on stage with it and placed it on the band member's keyboard.
Another Australian threw an Swagman's hat onto the stage, she wore it for a little while before throwing it back into the crowd....and guess who ended up with it. Yes I did! Overall the concert was UNBELIEVABLE and Madonna has definitely improved with age. Her voice was the best I've ever heard.

From William:
I flew from Hong Kong to Osaka just to see Madonna and the show was absolutely amazing! I loved it all, but the Music Inferno number really really stood out as being fantastic.
Even at the middle ticket price (15,000 yen = roughly $150US), I was on the floor, only 30 rows away from Madge herself! The crowd was very responsive; Madonna didn't have to ask people to stand up or anything.
When it came to her rest time, Madonna didn't try to get the crowd to repeat the peace message I've read about on this site. She did, however, get off-stage and walk around the front runway because (she said) that Japanese law made it so fans had to be a few meters from the stage.
Madonna came down, gave a message to a newly-wed couple ('Learn to say you're sorry'), and took a stuffed kangaroo from an Australian and gave to Stuart.
There were some minor microphone problems in the music number she sang on the steps directly after her break causing some stares in the direction of Stuart. Excellent concert!

Sunday 17 September - Kyocera Dome, Osaka

From Patrick:
I flew all the way from Brisbane Australia especially for the four concerts here in Japan - and so far the Osaka Concerts have made it all worthwhile.
Each person with 50,000 yen Premium tickets (fan club members, etc) received a surprise goodie bag with the Tour Programme, a Confessions Ticket Holder that went around your neck, and also an exclusive Osaka Dome Confessions Tour T Shirt with the dates of the Osaka Concerts on the back!
For the first night....
I was FRONT ROW (in front of the catwalk) and there were SEVERE security issues....
a) The Barriers were further away than usual
b) The Stage was higher
c) There were these silly little white shirt 'security guards' EVERYWHERE.
Throughout the show we weren't allowed to stand at the barriers - the 'security' went wild....Pushing people back - DEMANDING tickets to be shown - SCREAMING at people - even to the point of getting a rope and tying us back from the barrier. By ANY standards, there was not a large rush to the front, but the .security. (and I use that term loosely) were extremely agressive - for no real reason, and it really did put a dampener on the start of the show.
Madonna noticed the Security being so aggressive and just before Ray of Light she screamed - 'I see you down the front! Those security guards are mean! Fuck the Security Guards! Rise against them! Rebel!' Then some of Madonna's own security came out and we got our own back - they told the Japanese ones to let go of the ropes tying us back and to get out of the front row area! It was AWESOME! (Probably planned....but still awesome!)
Then she played Ray Of Light and for the rest of the show we had the front of the catwalk area all to ourselves - only about 10 of us!
The BEST part was went she came down off the stage and walked around right in front of us! She went to the left corner and she spoke with some people from Melbourne Australia, and they gave her a Blow Up Kangaroo (the band were playing with it on the second night also). She run past the front row area and was again confronted with Australians....perhaps that might convince her to visit us next time!
It was a flawless show - the dancers were great - poking faces at us along the barriers - and at the end of the show the front area won the 'Time Goes By....' singing competition!
It was a GREAT show - putting aside the security guard thing - but you can tell it's been a strain on her.
Second show....
We were in the stands for the second show - and the security got smarter and tougher. In the show Madonna said 'Japan, you gotta change your laws! The barriers are so far away! Write to your congressman, write to your Emperor! Write to the King! Off with his head!' Haha!
Also, she learnt a few Japanese words for the show - She yells Kon Ban Wa (good evening) at the start - then throughout the show she was yelling 'Tonde!' meaning JUMP! Plus a few words like Domo Arigato, etc. It was great....
The after parties were AWESOME as well - the Japanese really know how to dance until the sun comes up man - they NEVER stop.
Now its on to the Tokyo shows!
