Wednesday 01 September - P.O.P Bercy, Paris

From Julien:
I had the privilege of seeing Madonna tonight and it was so amazing!
She wore the Kabbalists Do It Better t-shirt, and made a mistake on Material Girl. The Paris tune was back in Don't Tell Me. Madonna told us we were crazy and brave and it wasn't good to smoke and we didn't have the right to in Bercy! She said that she will say it to our President! So funny she was energetic, beautiful, happy....
But truly as a fan I must say it was more than I could have ever wished....I had a 3rd category seat (for 100 euros), and the crowd was so reactive, even during songs from the Amercan Life album....hey french fans do it better! ;)
The highlights according to me and from the reaction of the crowd: Vogue, American Life, Express Yourself, Material Girl, Into The Groove, Music and Holiday.
She will always be the Queen, because she's simply the best....sorry Britney, J.Lo and Janet, you still have a lot to do!

From Greg:
Madonna seemed to be in an excellent mood for her first show in Paris. She smiled a lot and talked frequently, mostly in English but also a few words in French. At one point she asked if it was true 'that you can smoke in here, but not bring in a bottle of Red Bull? That's not right, I'll have to speak to your President about that!' (not the exact words she used, but pretty close).
Actually, you weren't supposed to bring any drinks into the arena at all but buy them inside....arena personnel were on the lookout for people with video cameras; a guy in the row behind me was filming the show and a security guard made him stop and took away his tape.
Madonna asked the crowd to help her sing 'Material Girl', and only sung a few words of the first two verses! Surprisingly, given that it most a mostly French audience, there were enough people singing that you could hear it. She also got us involved on 'Don't Tell Me', 'Like A Prayer' and 'Holiday'. I sang along to most of the songs! On one of the verses of 'Imagine', she started a wrong line, quickly realised it and quickly spoke the right line with a smile; it wasn't smooth but got a good reaction from the crowd.
There was a special event planned for the first night by a French fan web site: fans were asked to bring a red rose and to pass them along towards the stage during 'Papa Don't Preach'. The idea was to cover the stage with roses to welcome Madonna to Paris. Unfortunately this didn't work out, I saw a few bunches of roses being collected in front of the stage, but none were thrown onto it or given to Madonna. Maybe just as well - duing the Blond Ambition tour, she frequently told people to not 'throw shit on stage' :)
The show itself is spectacular. I really enjoyed the choreography on Vogue, Express Yourself and Into The Groove/Papa Don't Preach. I had a good block 'O' seat close to the stage on the right. In this area, the audience was enthusiastic, we spent most of the show standing up, dancing and singing.
From where I was, there was a lot to look at: the different parts of the stage, the giant video screens and Madonna herself. The overall effect is often stunning. The show is non-stop energy and is very entertaining. I think it will be difficult to capture it all in the planned DVD of the concert, so it's really worth going to see the concert if you can get decent seats.
Madonna is doing four shows in Paris. I am going again for the second show for sure, but I enjoyed myself so much tonight that I will try to get tickets for the remaining two shows!

From Eric:
Amazing! Her voice was so clear and beautiful! I was so excited....I found the new version of Material Girl very good, it rocked! I couldn't help crying during Mother and Father, because she sang it with a certain emotion and maybe because I had the same story....and to see the picture of her mother on the screen....
I really loved Vogue, Nothing Fails, Burning up too. I will go back on Saturday the 4th! I am impatient!

From Nadia:
Paris the 1st of September was my 1st Madonna's show ever in my life and that was GREAT! I was on the floor at the 1st row when the show started and I was dancing when some girls from the organisation pointed at me and came to ask me how many people are you? I said 2 and they took us with them and we did the show in the left pit!
Madonna was so close, she was amazing, beautiful, powerful, singing and dancing so well (better that what I expected in fact) and from the pit everyone has at least a moment with her, I had her singing 'Don't Tell Me' over me and looking at me. There's also a cool exchange with everybody on stage, the dancers the musicians, Donna.
Madonna came to get caressed by people from my pit on her ass....she was really fun, incredible, great. I was impressed by all the flowers that were collected, and I liked the guy who was holding a sign saying 'Kiss me Madonna, I'm Britney!'

From Nicholas:
Oh My God!
I was at the 1st show in Bercy last night! She was amazing! What else can we say! The best part of the show comes along with Nothing Fails when the crowd is really with her! The Paris background during Don't Tell Me is back! I was so worried we'd have London Bridge! But thank God we got the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame back on stage!
Holiday ends with Isrealian and Palestinian flags both together for a Re-invented future!

From Peter:
After waiting to get my ICON pre-sale tickets at the venue, we found out they had not been printed and got a big surprise....we got given two pit tickets instead of our original tickets.
It was so awesome to see all the stuff backstage, the dancers, the suitcases, the stage. To see Madonna going in and out under the stage. The biggest moment was when she grabbed my hand and touched me, and after the show (when the screens hid Madonna and the dancers from the audience) that the whole crew came together including Madonna and thanked each other all for making a great show.
I had a once in a lifetime experience....and now I have the two concerts in my hometown in Holland to look forward to.

From Francois:
I was in Bercy yesterday and there is just one thing I can tell you....it was WOW! If I think about it now I can cry again. What a show.
Madonna's voice was super! The dancers were great. My best moment was Mother and Father I could only cry. My father died just 4 weeks ago and that moment was to mutch for me. I am going to see her again next week in Arnhem SUPER! I can't wait. For all you guys who is going to see her the next 2 weeks I like to say to you all....ENJOY.

From Jean Francois:
AMAZING! I saw madonna 3 times....Girlie Show and Drowned World and RIT....each time the shows are so different and the last tour is incredible....I was in block O. Excellent view 10 rows from the stage....so close when she sings CRAZY FOR YOU....in my block everybody had fun but I guess every block had....the entire crowd was up all the night and when madonna talk about the non sitting song she noticed that everybody was already up.
So many highlights....can you imagine every single person clapping and dancing and singing on Material Girl the floor under my feetwas like waves same things for Like A Prayer....and it's not just because oldies are goodies....on Nothing Fails or Mother And Father there was electricity in the air....
She is the best performer....I missed a lot on the video screens because there are so many things to see on the stage but most of all the one and only M.
At the end of the show I saw what she did backstage, she hugs dancers and someone put a towel on her shoulders and finally she leaves....
Thank you Madonna! Words cannot describe the experience and please please release a DVD AND A LIVE ALBUM of this tour!

From Neil:
I went to see Drowned World Tour on 26th June at the Palais Omnisports and was blown away by the French crowd reaction - they sang Paradise and drowned out the music, she held out the mic and the crowd sang Gone. I then went to all 6 London shows and was embarrassed about how tame and boring the London crowds were. From that day on I swore that whilst I would always see M in each and every London date, I would make the effort to go to Paris to be amongst 'real' Madonna fans who actually knew the tracks....
....Paris did not let me down. They sang Mother and Father. They sang American Life. There was a mega whoop for Intervention. Major moshpitting during Nobody Knows Me. You cant beat a standing atmosphere!
Some great quotes from M tonight....'This place is so fucked up....you can smoke cigarettes in the arena but you cant buy Red Bull....I'm going to have to speak to the president'.
The voice seems better since London, although the 'Never Gonna Have It Again' from Deeper and Deeper was shortened, and instead of going 'high' on 'I'm on FI-RE!' in Burning Up, she took it deeeeep!
Tried to get the crowd Whoo--Whoo--ing to Holiday as I'd done in London, took AGES to catch on - am going again tomorrow so will try again....
This night beat the pants off of all the London nights....French Do It Better, sad but true London....

From Deniz:
This was my first Madonna show and I had travelled all the way from Istanbul to see Her Madgesty so my expectations were quite high – and I’m proud to say that I wasn’t disappointed. After a four hour wait outside Bercy and two inside the stadium, I thought my heart was going to stop when she rose to the stage for Vogue (my feet had already stopped functioning!).
The show flowed so effortlessly and I was so excited that I can hardly remember details now. One funny point was during 'Imagine' though - she said the song was written about 30 years ago, 'but it could easily be written now, history has a terrible way of repeating itself' and THEN she stumbled and almosy fell down - it made me giggle so much, she was also smiling and almost missed the opening lines for the song. Elsewhere, she truly ROCKED and gave me one of the best nights of my life. Ever. Bless her!'

Thursday 02 September - P.O.P Bercy, Paris

From Greg:
Madonna gave another fantastic show on her second date in Paris. I was also at the Wednesday show which I wrote about yesterday. But tonight I got a big thrill.
I had a great seat in the second row, very close to the right of the stage. That's where Madonna sings 'Crazy For You', on a platform which rises up high from the stage. She started to sing the song looking down at the floor area, and then she turned to where I was. I was singing along with her intensely and reaching out to her, unlike most people around me. I suppose she noticed this because she looked at me dead straight for about 10 seconds while she sang! It was a great moment that made the show extra special for me.
Before the last segment of the show, she said that when her 'American Life' album came out, it was taken as very anti-war in the US and wasn't played by the radio stations, but that in France it was and that the country understood things better than the US. She thanked us for this and ended by blurting out 'who needs any fucking wars?' That got a wild response!
The show is so much FUN! Madonna was flawless tonight and her voice was even better than yesterday - very strong and clear on 'Lament', 'Mother and Father' etc. She looks great; she wore the same costumes as yesterday: the violet corset and 'Kabbalists Do It Better' t-shirt - the Brits and the Irish got a special version, does she mean that the French aren't up to it? :)
The atmosphere in the arena was great; Madonna told us to stand up for Like A Prayer, and everybody did - I could see people dancing and clapping their hands everywhere I looked.
Bring on Saturday and Sunday!

From Antoine:
What a great show....Madonna was in great mood her voice sounded so clear and powerful and very emotional when singing Lament. She asked the audience to help her singing Material Girl which we did for most of the song. This new rock version was great! After Papa Don't Preach she thanked France for playing her American Life LP when it was banned in the US and said she was grateful for that! She spoke in French too.
This show was a wonderful experience worth the €100 I paid for the ticket. I loved the last part from Into the Groove to Holiday....the crowd was very reactive and moody! I bought a French Do It Better tee for my sister and the Tour programm after the show!

From Yuri:
Just wanted to share with you a couple of observations from the second Paris show (Sept 2). Madonna was in a great shape. She looked stunningly beautiful.
Her voice was strong. It looks like yoga taught Madonna how to breathe properly, and her beautiful voice is now even more powerful and as strong as ever.
Vive la France! This is Madonna's declaration of love to France. Last night before singing Crazy For You which she dedicated to all her fans, she thanked France for being loyal to her music all those years. She also said that when her American Life album came out, it was labelled 'unamerican' in the USA and the radio stations refused to play it. But France stuck by Madonna.
A world class show! The sold out Bersy was captivated by Madonna's spectacle. Even though the show started 45 minutes later than it was supposed to start, I am sure no one left Bercy unhappy.

From Tanja:
She was beautiful, gracious, powerful and right in front of me! I couldn't stand still, I just had to dance the whole time! She gave me so much energy, it felt great!
I loved the version of Burning Up, and when she did Crazy For You at the end of the song she lay down on her stomach to look at us, that was very cool. Madonna, don't ever stop, I'll see you in Arnhem next week!

From Jeyan:
I had a limited view ticket, I managed to be the first to enter Bercy and get the best seat in Section M.
It was fantastic, I had the full view of the stage as well as the back stage. Madonna sang Nothing Fails, Crazy For You right in front of us. Just before Don't Tell Me, she forgot to pick her microphone, immediately went back and picked it saying 'woops a daisy'.
During her speech, she thanked French people for their great support. She said 'when my American Life album came out last year - or whenever it was she added - it was found unamerican in US and many radio stations even did not play it. But in France, you supported it. I think I have sold more American Life records here than anywhere else in the world'. The response from the crowd was very strong, they cheered back heavily.
Just before Mother and Father, Madonna asks the audience in French 'if they are having a good time', after getting an ear deafening yeeees response , she adds in French 'mee too'.

From Hollyboy:
Oh my God! This show was perfect. The set was astounding as well as her voice which was flawless. The atmosphere was heavy, but Madonna set the audience on fire. She introduced some words in French and thanked France for supporting her throughout her career and being faithful to her. The climax of the show was 'Nobody Knows Me', 'Material Girl', 'Like A Prayer', 'Don't Tell Me' or even 'Holiday'.
She was really pretty, her clothes were fantastic! So Madonna is the best and rules the world. A piece of advice for those who will have the opportunity to see her on stage: enjoy deeply, sing and dance.

From Nicolas And Justin:
This is the second time and oh my God it is still amazing! She seems to have so much fun! At one point she even forgot her microphone! After Nothing Fails she leaves her seat to start Don't Tell Me and 'Ooops' (that what she said!) she forgot her microphone and had to rush back to get it! Big Laugh #1! She messed up the second verse of Music! Big Laugh #2!
A lot of emotion during Imagine 'Words are simple but simplicity is not that easy! Tears #1! She thanked the French public for supporting her for the past 20 years and especially during the launch of her controversal video for American Life in 2003. Tears #2! And she reminded us that war is not the solution! Tears #3!
See tommorow for the 3rd show!

From Herve:
I went to Madonna's second concert in Paris last night. The show was amazing, even if, as usual, Madonna was a little too much in her show, and not enough communicating with the audience (but I guess it's someting that the girl will never change....)
On the opening on Vogue, the whole venue became completely crazy, it was really impressive. She said a few stuff in french all along the show such as 'Je t'aime', 'Vive la France' , 'Hou la la' or 'Est-ce que vous vous amusez (are you having fun?) - moi aussi (me too)'.
During 'Don't Tell Me', the Paris picture replaced the usual London one (she knows the way the French always need to be flattered....)
In the end of her show, she took some time to explain to us that her last album had been censored on US radios because it was a little too anti-american. She then thanked France for being a country 'who always stood by her', especially at that difficult time, and also, refering to Iraq, she said that she really appreciated France for having say 'no' to that 'fucking war that nobody really wanted'. No need to say that the whole crowd became completely mad. I noticed that a big part of the audience were foreigners where Madonna is not going (Italy, Spain, Germany), which made the overall atmosphere even cooler!

From James:
I came over from America to see Madonna in Paris - she was truly amazing! I saw the Drowned World tour at Earls court 3 Years ago and this time she just seemed to be having more fun!
The opening was amazing and when Vogue started the crowd went wild! All the songs were fantastic but it was particulary great to hear tracks like 'Burning Up', 'Vogue', Like a Prayer', and American Life! That was amazing!
The show was astounding! NOBODY does it like Madonna - EVER!

From Harry:
I attended Madonna's show last night in Paris and I was blown away by her magnetism and skillful performance.
Even though I've been waiting for an estimated 5 hours (being a fan is sometimes a hard job but someone has to do it ;-)) outside in the burning sun and another 2 hours inside Bercy, the tired feeling seemed to ebb away as soon as the lights went out and the show began. It's an amazing visual spectacle and one I will always remember.
A few highlights from my perspective are:
The beautiful visuals and the Indian-flavoured mix of 'The Beast Within' at the opening of the show.
The Bedtime Story remix-video and the female dancers doing trapeze-miracles to the sound.
Madonna's speech at the end of American Life about how the U.S. considered her album un-American and the fact that the album sold the most in France. She thanked the audience and the fans for this, which of course got a big roar of approval. She ended the speech by saying: 'Who wanted this f*cking war anyway?' to loud applause from all that attended the show.
The lifting of the stage when Madonna suddenly was in the sky and walking all around us :-)
The gun-acrobatics she mastered flawlessly during Express Yourself.

From Neil:
I never thought the crowd from 1st September could be beaten....however tonight was far HOTTER in all senses than last night!
At the start of Vogue she looked up at the crowd and had the BIGGEST grin I've seen in the 8 shows I've been to....and it just got better. We were front row but had to move back a couple, it was just WAY hot and the mosh pit was pandemonium during Nobody Knows Me!
Mother and Father got the biggest reaction I've ever seen it get with everyone clapping and Nothing Fails was a mass singalong.
A few cock ups, she forgot the 2nd verse to Music and in the end just held her mic out whilst in hystrerics, and she saw a banner that said 'MADONNA ITS BRITNEY KISS ME' during Crazy For You and completely lost her position laughing.
The funniest bit though was during Dont Tell Me....she was enjoying the crowd singing Nothing Fails so much she wandered away from her stand, leaving the mic in its stand, before having to run back and get it as she was supposed to sing the opening line....again, hysterical laughter and all M could say was a playful 'Whoopsee!'. CLASSIC!
Managed to get the crowd Whoo-Whooing at Holiday tonight....
And the stadium was a flood of lighters during Imagine....
My 8 shows are at an end and I had a tear in my eye leaving the Omnisport.
My promise to myself remains as once again in comparison the London crowds were dismal compared to Paris, and I promise once more I will always hop on the Eurotunnel to see the Queen.

From Kris:
Yep, I'm a Metal freak! The Metalmusic runs through my veins since 1977....but when my wife asked me to join her on a trip to Paris to see Madonna, I couldn't resist - I just had to know what was all the fuss about. Well, one thing's for sure: Lady Madonna really got me by the balls when she played 'Imagine' from the great master himself, John Lennon....and at the same time all those horrifying pictures behind her, of children been blown away and ripped into pieces by war, slowly fading into pictures of kids playing together, regardless age or race or sex....
Yep, it had been a long time since I was 'overwhelmed' at a concert, but Lady Madonna did it....RESPECT! I can only hope that musicians all around the world start joining hands and forces in order to save the children, our future, of this dying planet....and I can only hope that what I have seen was not just a Madonna-gimmick, but that she really means it....I hope....

From Bjoern:
I was on her second show in Paris and it was an amazing trip. It was worth it to travel all the way from Munich/Germany to Paris to see her again (I also have been in London on the Drowned World Tour 2001).
'The Beast Within' was just a great preparation for what was coming after....Yogadonna with 'Vogue'. A trip! She went with us through 20 years of Madonna-HERstory and there was one highlight after the other.
After 'Nothing Fails' she forgot her mic and went back to get it for 'Don't Tell Me'. With a loud 'OOOOOOOPS' she started singing with a big grin on her face.
'Imagine' was time to cry....the emotional voice of the Queen was just going down the back with cold flashes. Very critical was the videoshow during 'American Life' - Mr President with Hussein - the message went through I guess....great - the world needs people that are able to express what they think.
With the big catwalk coming down she had another great surprise for us. Jumping up and down the catwalk the crowd was going insane....closer to the people further back and the people in the triangle just made the biggest party I've ever seen! Madonna really rocked the P.O.P. in Bercy.
For me it was an experience for lifetime - I never expected to get so close to her (I managed to get quite close to the front of stage). She is a living legend and always will be. Madonna IS the American Dream (or Italian-American Dream *smile*). Hope she comes to Germany again one day! But even if not - I'll travel again!

From Patricia:
My first Madonna show ever, and my first Paris trip ever! It couldn't be better!
I watched the show on Thursday night 2nd of September, and I enjoyed Madonna soooo much, so much that I even forgot my horrible experience with a thief at midday!
Her voice is incredible, she is beautiful, sweet and unbelieveable what acrobatic moves madonna did. WOW.
I admire her even more after seeing her live with an phenomenal gig that night. The time flies, I was overwhelmed with emotions, deeply moved, and soaked with sweat when I left the POP Bercy.
Respect and - thank you Mrs Ritchie - for this indescribable re-invention!

From Manuel:
I had the chance to attend to 3 shows, one at Wembley and the first two dates at Bercy and I noticed that while in London Madonna included the 'Bitterweet Symphony' extract from The Verve, in Paris she completely omitted it. There was a similar song but nothing to do with The Verve's track. Also the screen backgrounds were different according to the city where the show was held.
The effect that the metallic deck had over the audience was totally cool at Bercy as all the tickets sold for that area were for standing and Madonna and her dancers were like walking over an ocean of people....I have to say that the version that she does for 'Holiday' is the best one I have ever seen live.

Saturday 04 September - P.O.P Bercy, Paris

From Francis:
Ohh what a circus....oh what a show! Everything was very artistic and not really a mess like when other artists try to copy Madonna.
After Papa Don't Preach Madonna said: I want to thank you all for coming tonight, I can see that tonight there are people from Australia, Spain, Italy and many other countries, it is for sure that music really makes the people come together!
My special moment was when Madonna started to sing Material girl, everybody was singing! And then the John Lennon song Imagine! It was so beautiful!
Thank you Madonna you really know how to make an excellent show!

From Carlo:
I just have to say this has been the best concert ever! She burned down the house completely, the ambience was absolutely much more than orgasmic,(best hard on ever!) and her voice sounded crystal clear, you could feel it's vibrations under you're skin, Lord! What an experience!
It was really fun when someone fron the front rows threw a teddy bear on the stage and Maddy said 'Is this all I get? I want diamonds!' and at the same time she threw back the teddy bear to the crowd! Oh an enormous laugh was heard....DIVINE, just DIVINE!
She is really, and will be till the end of times the one and only GODDESS! No contest! Long live The Queen!

From Veronique:
I was at Bercy yesterday night (Saturday 4th) and I must say it's getting better and better at each show.
As a fan I was expecting a show 'a la madonna'....but that was more than just a show....you could feel her in all the emotion she wants to give....there was vibration, connection in the way she sang, the way she spoke to the audience and that tear she nearly had when she gave her speach to the audience to thank for the support she is still having for 20 years.
I had to dry my tears during 'Imagine' cause it gave such emotion inside and she is not wrong when she said that 'music gets the people come together'.
I also noticed that the big square box on stage (for the bass or the sound to comes out) on wich it is usually written 'Marshall' on had been modified, it had 'Madonna' written on it instead!
I felt Madonna was really enjoying sharing all those songs with the crowd, and during 'Don't Tell Me;' she really insisted on not to tell her to stop! So I guess there is more to come for the next few years!

From Lewis:
Last night was the most incredible night of my life. After waiting for about seven years to see my idol I finally got the chance. I was at the September 4th show in the Bercy Arena, and I had flown from Scotland to see Madonna....and I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen her - mostly because I was crying from the minute she got on stage!
I had queued up in the heat outside the arena from early afternoon to get in as I had standing tickets, but it paid off as I managed to get down the front. I loved every second of that show....Madonna's voice was exceptional especially during 'Lament', I loved her rocky version of 'Burning Up' and I laughed so much when someone in the audience handed her a teddy bear and she said 'Is that all I get....I prefer diamonds!'
I also loved the part when she said 'Don't call this a rock concert....I hate that phrase, this isn't a rock concert anyway is it?'
It was a truly amazing show and the atmosphere was electric with so many Madonna fans under one roof all there to have a great time and join in with her message about peace and unity which was apparent during 'Imagine'.
From the opening of 'The Beast Within' which sent shivers up my spine to the end of 'Holiday' it was the most amazing show I am ever likely to see. THANKYOU MADONNA!

From Theomanez:
It was a great show! The best one since 1987 at the Parc de Sceaux! Her voice was very clear! She was very friendly and sweaty: the weather was very hot around 30°C! She said 'Je suis chaude / I am hot' it means 'I am very excited' in French....
After Crazy For You somebody threw a little teddy bear on the stage, she took it, stared at it and threw it in the crowd saying 'I only love diamonds....' and she laughed! I had a great moment and I am waiting the release of the DVD now!

From Remco:
Last Saturday I had the privilege to see her again, 1st time after Philadelphia in July. There was definitely some serious filming going on. Lots of camera's, looking too professional only to be used for the in-house screens.
She wore the blue corset again, and looked happy. Not much interaction, no mention of the war or anything (another clue that they were shooting?).
At one point a teddy bear was thrown onto the stage: 'Is this all I get? I like diamonds!'. This remark was 'bumped' by the drummer (like on Letterman), causing her to smile.
Before Crazy For You, she thanked all people from other countries for coming to this show, she named Argentina, Australia, Italy and Spain.
She seemed to have lost the words to the second verse of Music, but pointing the mic to the crowd always helps....and she got back on track after a few words.
A perfect, flawless show. The crowd could have been a bit more enthusiastic....but let's see how us Dutchies will do on Wednesday and Thursday!

From Ashley:
Madonna was so full of energy tonight she spoke to us loads and at one point when someone threw something on the stage she said 'Is this all I get? I like dimonds!'
Her voice sounded amazing and has got so much stronger since the Manchester concert! She again thanked all the countries for travelling to paris and said 'See music does make the people come together!' She rocked and always will I LOVE YOU MADONNA!

From Nicholas And Justin:
Madonna is HOT! 'Je suis chaud' (I'm hot) she said at the beginning of 'Burning Up'. Then she asked the crowd to sing along with her 'Material Girl'....we did nearly the whole song! LOL! At the beginning of 'Lament' she spit on a dancer as she did for the first show!
'Don't Tell Me' ends in a different way this time! 'Don't ever tell me what to say, what to do, what to think, what to fell, don't ever tell me to stop!'
At the end of Papa Don't Preach she said 'I see there is a lot of people from other countries. Italy, Argentina,Austalia, Spain and a lot more. Thanks for coming here to be with me. This is the proof that music really makes the people come together. I wish it wouldn't happen only in a rock concert! Well this not a rock concert!
Then somebody sent her a tiny Teddy bear! She took it and said 'Is this all I get?' she sent it back to the crowd and said 'I like diamonds only!' This was so funny!

From Paul M:
What a great day! There was a good atmosphere in the queue, with the hot sun beating down on everyone and so many people waiting to go in. Once we were all inside you could feel the tension growing as everyone jostled for a better position and people ran down to the floor.
Great show, and with the standing crowd I think more of a party atmosphere than the UK shows I attended - I certainly danced more.
Interesting to see the change in backdrop for 'Dont Tell Me' and the change from Bittersweet Symphony to French music for the track to be mixed with.
Madonna seemed to be in a playful mood with the large gay contingent of the crowd giving a little smile as she said hello to 'gay' paris, and opening Express Yourself with 'C'mon boys....'
She acknowledged how many different countries and cultures were represented in the audience stating 'Music makes the people come together' and she was right....

From Greg:
Saturday was another good show, but the crowd was not as enthusiastic as on Thursday. They didn't sing along to Material Girl so much, and Madonna has to push them - 'OK, I'm gonna give you once last chance' before the final verse.
Madonna didn't push her voice so much on 'Lament' or on 'Mother and Father'. Maybe she was concentrating more because of the film crew in action. She still talked a lot though. She had noticed flags from different countries, and said she was pleased that we all came here tonight to be with her and that it was proof that 'music - makes - the - people - come - together!' Then she picked up a teddy bear that had been thrown to her and said 'Is this all I get? I like diamonds....', great stuff!

Sunday 05 September - P.O.P Bercy, Paris

From Transcendent:
To make a long story short: I loved the concert in Paris. It was to die for.
We traveled from Berlin to Paris only because of Madonna. It was expensive and exhausting but it was so worth it. When she performed Frozen, she sang 'mmmmm, give yourself to me', but at that moment she already had us all.

From Julien:
I was yesterday in Paris Bercy for the last show and it was the most amazing show I had ever seen! She was so beautiful and her voice so pure! The beginning of the show with The Beast Within is fabulous and so weird!
During Papa Don't Preach, just before singing the verse of American Life, she spoke a little in French to ask us if we wanted her to stay here in Paris for ever, we said YEAAAAH! and she said 'alors d'accord!' (OK, I'll stay!) with a large smile on her face!
I was just under the platform used in American Life during the fashion show and saw every one's underwear (quite funny)!
But the moment I adored was the circus chapter! Everything was shiny and when she sang The Lament (just after spitting on the face of a dancer!) I started to cry and everybody did!
She asked us to sing Material Girl because she was used to forget the lyrics!
Just before singing Imagine, she made reference to that awful school hostage thing in Russia and it was so bouhouuuu!
And WOW, how she dances, how she moves! That yoga thing may be a help but I think she never moved like this!
I had been waiting for this day for twenty years and if I had to wait 8 hours under the bloody aggressive sun again....I would!

From Nadia:
I was so amazed to see Madonna the 1st of September that my Lucky Star sent me 2 tickets to go back to see her the 5th....
This time I was not in the left pit but in the crowd, and it was also great to have a normal view of the show and to see how she can put fire in the middle of 17,000 people....
She said in French: 'It's my last night in Paris, I am sad, and you? Should I stay here forever? (everybody shouted YEAH!) and then she said laughing 'OK!' I found that she was giving more of herself, like she wanted to give everything for the last Paris show.

From Greg:
Sunday's show was just MAGIC. The crowd tonight was fantastic, better than on Saturday and the best of all four shows. Before the show, we cheered and clapped for ages. Madonna got a loud response all throughout the show, it was great. A lot of people were singing the songs; 'Material Girl' went especially well and Madonna seemed very happy at the end of it. There were arms up everywhere on 'Nothing Fails' and 'Like A Prayer'. 'Music' and 'Holiday' seemed especially wild to me! All one big party.
Madonna was really enjoying herself and she was really into it, more than on Saturday. Before 'Like A Prayer' she turned to the seating area to the left of the stage and said it was a 'no sitting down zone' over there and everyone should get up and dance! There was no such problem on the other side of the stage! The film crew were in action again tonight, so we can look forward to some great extracts of the show in the tour documentary - I can't wait!
I went to all of Madonna's four Paris shows and had a great time at every one, but Sunday's will be by far the most memorable for me. Nothing else compares and nobody comes close to the Queen!

From Wayne:
After travelling from Swansea South Wales to Paris I was ready for my 6th Reinvention show. Paris was in party mode and everywhere you turned were madonna fans. The show was an awesome experience again, my favourite one so far. The fans were wild and everyone was really excited. Late as usual Madonna was elevated onto her stage and greeted with the loudest cheers Ive ever heard. The show was slick and precise and everyone was up dancing from the start.
We were asked to think about the children in Russia before she sang 'Imagine' and this was the most touching performance of the song I have heard on this tour. By the end of the show even Madonna had joined in with the ooh ooh that the crowd kept chanting throughout holiday. Well what more can I say, another city another country and another stellar performance from the First Lady Of Pop.

From Arnaud And Elodie:
My girlfriend and I saw Madonna twice in Paris last week. We read the fan reviews which were posted on your site. What more could I say? An incredible show, full of emotion, of fun. We really had a wonderful time.
We went to the first show with our friends on September 1st, we had seats quite far from the stage, but we could see everything that was happening and it was great. Our friends had standing tickets so they had to queue for a long time but they managed to be very close to the stage.
Did anybody write that Madonna spits on her dancer when he tries to tie her to the electric chair? I don't remember reading about that, but anyway, she did and nobody in Bercy expected it, so we all laughed....
We also went to the last show on Sunday, we went to the George V hotel first, to try to see Madonna before the show. We waited for a couple of hours, when her husband came out and got into a car. Then, it was Lourdes and her nannies, and finally, as I didn't expect it anymore, Madonna showed up! It was an incredible experience to see Madonna that close, as I have been a fan for years and never managed to catch her coming out from her hotel.
Then, we went to Bercy, where we had seats very close to the stage, on the side, and we saw the show again. The crowd was even hotter than the 1st, and Madonna seemed to be having a very good time....we really had an unforgettable week.
