Wednesday 18 August - Earls Court, London

From Colin:
All I can say is Oh My God, scrap that....oh my madonna! I was a first timer and I was amazed. She had Earls Court rockin and she sounded fantastic. She said it was the best crowd shes ever has (she probably says that every night?)
The 2 hours went like 2 mins. She is going to be the hardist drug to come off!

From Monty:
Just back from the first London gig - 17 years to the day after I first saw Madonna in London on the Who's That Girl tour! What a fantastic show! Madonna said it was 'great to be back home' and told us we were the 'best audience ever' - who am I to disagree?
Despite avidly reading all I could about the shows in North America I was still amazed at how many surprises there were, in the staging and, especially, the songs. Madonna has managed some really interesting re-works of some of her classic hits. Burning Up really blew me away. Re-release it! Stunning to watch, but so much to take in.
Admittedly I felt there were some 'miss' moments (Hanky Panky for one) but the 'hit' moments showed her on her best-ever form.

From George:
Well the opening night in London and what can I say WOW! I didn't think this tour could live up to Drowned World tour, but I was blown away. I loved the 'Brits do it better T-shirt'. Nobody knows me had to be my favorite song, the dancing was amazing and it was great that she did it solo. The crowd was so energetic and clearly Madonna thrived from this. She was flawless and her voice was perfect. Overall I would give this tour 10/10 for excitement and theme. I was up out of my seat the whole night and could not even break to go to the toilet! I just cant wait till tomorrow as I will be in the pit!

From Steve:
What can I say, Its was brilliant. She comented that 'We were the best audience ever' and after 'Like a Prayer' she said we were 'The best audience ever' which was nice. She talked alot to us and said before singing Crazy for you that 'It is so good to be home'. Seems she feels London is her home. She kept talking to the audience and made alot of contact. Was a great show and will remember it forever. Cheers Madonna.

From Arda:
I just got back from the concert. We had front row tickets and were only 2-3 meters away from her. Even Darren Hayes and Geri Halliwell were sitting behind us. Madonna was beautiful, energetic, toned; simply the Queen of Pop. She said it was good to be back home in London. While singing Imagine, she pointed at me and my friend Davide and that was the most special moment during the concert for me....Well done Madonna....

From Fiona:
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! Brits Do It Better! Madonna said, 'It’s great to be home!' The crowd went wild. 'You are the best crowd ever! and I’m not just saying that.' I was jumping up and down screaming and went completely troppo, I’m sure she saw me! I was screaming so much through the entire show that I have no voice left. It feels so surreal to have finally seen this concert, I have been religiously following the tour news everyday since the first rumour of the tour broke and now I can say that I’ve seen the greatest show on earth!

From Scott Maddy:
The crowd waited in anticipation of Madonna's return to EC last night. The atmosphere was truly electric in anticipation of her appearance. Once again, as expected the lights went down at 8.50 and The Beast Within started....I was in block B2 row E so had a totally central view and eveything about the stage and screens were sooo impressive, everyone I could see were on their feet , which was like that all night long. Then those cords of Vogue start! The audience went wild! And there she was! Looking as beautiful and toned as ever.
Well from that moment all, it all went so quickly, but I have to say I've never heard her voice as powerful and clear as it was last night. The sound system was amazing, costumers, dancers, video screens, all add to one of the best, if not the best shows ever. You could really tell she got off on the crowds vibe as she was laughing and smiling all the way through, especially on the catwalk as I could see her so very closely. All the tour team put in 110% effort to make this as good as they possibly can and boy - they succeed and more!
Madonna said 'you guys really surprised me' and followed it up with 'you are the best audience'. She thanked her 'mates Stella McCartney and Sharleen Spiteri. And also said its great to be home! It all went by so very quickly but every moment is a moment to treasure. Fave moment will have to be Like A Prayer , Papa Don't Preach and Crazy For You. But to be honest it was all excellent. Thank you Madonna, you never fail to impress, Madonna - the ultimate entertainer!

From Thomas:
Absolutely increadible! She seemed to enjoy every minute of it, as much as the audience. Her voice was perfect, not a single mistake, and all the song remixes were great! She said that it was 'so good to be home', and it was good to have her home.

From Paul And Bex:
London 18.08.04 was OUT OF THIS WORLD - I have seen Madonna every year since 1987 and last night blew me away. The whole of London seemes to be singing Like A Prayer if I never go to another concert again I will always remember this night. Material Girl and Burning up had everyone singing, Madonna could not be heard. Vogue was outstanding as was Papa dont Preach.
The film crews for the documentary were outside as we left catching peoples thoughts EVERYONE was totally blown away. We think Kylie and Guy turned up just before Madonna came onstage but could not see - can someone confirm? There was also a bloke dressed in a gold bustier which had everyone laughing and shouting before Madonna came on stage. THE BEST CONCERT EVER!

From Hannah:
What an absolute riot! Her Madgesty is truly incredible. By far the best tour ever. I feel incredibly blessed to have had seen her - roll on tonight! A legend!

From Brian:
I could gush on for pages, but I will keep it simple. The show was perfection. Madonna had obviously listened to the critcisms about Drowned World and acted upon them, with lots of audience interraction. When she proclaimed we were the best crowd yet and that she was so glad to be home, we all went wild! And no one sat down from beginning to end.
Kylie was sitting a few seats from us. Before the show, she was the centre of attention. Once the show started, the Princess of Pop must have clearly been in no doubt as to the heights she still has to scale to take the title of Queen of Pop.
Easily one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

From Aimeek Foreva:
I went to the first night of Madonna's Re-Invention tour at London in Earls Court. Was very excited about seeing her as I remember how brilliant she was a few years back when I went to the Drowned World Tour!
She came on stage later than usual, but it was definitely well worth the wait and as soon as Vogue started the London crowd went crazy!
The whole concert was fantasic and so energetic, the old songs were definitely the best as they really got the crowd going.
She was absolutely AMAZING! and I think anyone who is a fan should go see it, as it was so enjoyable and so impressive!
She also interacted with the audience alot in between songs before singing Like A Prayer shouted 'this is when you all get up off your arses and dance' and then at the end of Like A Prayer said 'I knew that my london crowd would not fail to amaze me thank you.'
When wearing her 'Brits Do It Better' top she shouted 'its so good to be back home.', which the crowd cheered for as you can imagine.
She had six costume chaging and her Vogue outfit was silver rather than gold like the one she had been wearing in America.
Being the first London date there were a lot of press and photographers there, and as expected a few celebrities were in the audience, we didn't actually expect to see as big stars as 'Kylie Minogue and sister Danni Minogue' sitting in the audience enjoying the concert with friends and two security guys.
Madonna just gets better and better and the Re-Invention tour was an amazing show.

From Becky:
FANTASTIC! It was the best show I have ever seen and the crown were going wild all night. The music was brilliant and effects and dancing fantastic. The highlight of the night was Like A Prayer and Holiday and also the man on the bagpipes. All songs were brilliant and sung in perfect key. I just wish I look as fit when im in my 40's!

From Tim:
WOW! Was at Earl's Court last night, Block 1 and it was simply AMAZING!
Vogue and Like A Prayer were stunning, and Nothing Fails, Don't Tell Me and Papa Don't Preach were just the best live performances that I have ever seen!
And when she said 'It's so good to be HOME' the whole place just went totally mad - needless to say I have a VERY sore throat this morning!
An Amazing Amazing show :o)

From Phil:
The show was fantastic! Madonna spoke to the crowd when she was about 2/3 of the way through and told us that it was 'Great to be home!'.
Before she launched into 'Like a Prayer' she insisted that everyone got up and danced, and then singled out someone in a suit who was sitting down near the front and said 'and that includes you - Sir!' She even told us that 'you guys are the best crowd EVER!' - but I bet she says that to everyone.
It was great to see a few celebs there too. Geri Halliwell was there and Darren Hayes from Savage Garden - but the best bit was seeing Kylie and Danni Minogue sitting together just a few metres away from us! Before the show started half of the audience were gathered around where they were sitting and they were waving to the audience. They seemed to have a great show and were dancing throughout!
All in all it was fantastic!

From Daniele:
I am still speechless....the show was GREAT, but what really surprised me was her VOICE....she never sang so well....the audience was a bit cold at the beginning and a few 'old' people (couples) did not stand up to dance....but it got better towards Like A Prayer (my best moment).
Earls Court seemed to fall down....everyone was just singing along her....FANTASTIC....and what to say about the FINALE the best Madonna ever. Not to mention that George Micheal and Kylie and Sharleen Spiteri were in the audience too....learn KYLiE! Madonna is still the Queen....GOD SAVE OUR QUEEN....

From Chris:
A group of us went last night and the show was simply the best. The dancing, singing and visuals were FANTASTIC. Madonna was on great form. She said it was great to be back home and the crowd just went wild for her. Highlights were definatley Burning up, Material girl, Into The groove and Papa Don't Preach. Just Brilliant.

From Rachael:
Madonna was awesome last night at Earls Court, the 2 hour show was amazing and worth every penny. Her dance routines were amazing, perfection.
The atmosphere was amazing - everyone was screaming - no-one sitting down - everyone dancing waving their hands in the air singing along with Madonna - even Madonna noticed and told us that we are a wonderful audience.
Kylie and Danni Minogue were there and everyone was rushing to take photos of them.
'I dedicate this next song to all my fans who have stuck by me through thick or thin for all these years'....the song was Crazy For You....my favourite song, the song that encouraged me to start singing.
I love you Madonna thank you for an awesome show.

From Vicky:
Having successfully won pit passes for the opening night in London, I still couldn't believe I was going to be so close to Madonna. We were allocated the left pit which turned out to be the better pit, as Madonna, Donna, Siedah and the dancers interacted with us much more than the right pit. Our first glimpse of Madonna was under the stage, getting into position for her entrance to Vogue - and then she arrived! From then on we were dancing, singing, waving hands and cheering; there was so much to take in that you forget about the screen and your eyes are just locked on Madonna.
But the best was yet to come....during Deeper and Deeper she came to the left pit and we all had arms outstretched - but I was the lucky one she chose! I made eye contact with her and mouthed 'thank you'; she also high fived my husband. The concert was better than DWT - am I not just saying that because I was in the pit; she had so much energy and looked as though she was really enjoying it. When the lights went down after Frozen, she was smiling away! I'm off to see the show tonight and then off to Wembley on Sunday - MADONNA; YOU ROCK!

From Steve:
After being in the Arena for 10 mins you could tell the crowd were up for it, mexican waves and sporadic cheering. I was worried about London after reading reports of other shows, as London shows can be a bit tame, my fears were unfounded the crowd was the best I've ever experienced in London and boy did she respond. She claimed we were the 'best crowd yet' and that we had 'taken her by surprise'. People were on their feet throughout the whole show and I was really surprised how well AL tracks went down, lots of singing in unison. NKM is superb as is BU. LAP was sensational while the final section was euphoric.
Madonna looked like she was having the time of her life. For upcoming shows play your part to get the crowd going and watch her go!

From David:
After 6 months of waiting, the night finally arrived, sat in block 3, so was witness to the commotion caused by the divine Minogue sisters arrival in block 2, this was all soon over. And the lights went down, my body was sweating from every orifice, I was a nervous wreck, The Beast Within was a wicked start, then Vogue came on and the crowd went wild. She looked amazing, sang perfect, and the whole show was visually stunning.
For me the highlights were when Madonna was on stage with little going on, just her, our party girl singing and dancing her heart out. She was loving every minute, and so were we.
If only she knew how happy she made people just by performing those songs I have waited 20 years to hear Madonna sing 'Crazy For You' and last night I felt like she was singing it to me!
She said 'she was glad to be home' She definitely was home coming Queen last night.
Going again tonight to take it all in, to be bathed in Confetti, and to feel the feeling that I felt last night. That after 20 years I was on a date with my girl....
Madonna has given us her fans a party. THANK YOU.

From Nathan And Mother:
Last night was absolutely fantastic! Not only was the show brilliant but who should be seated a couple of rows infront, no other than Kylie Minogue, and then Geri Halliwell walked in!
Thanks Madge for another dazzling evening of fun, frolics and first class entertainment!

From Felicity:
I had the absolutely incredible fortune of winning pit tickets for last night's opening show. I had a good time and got to HOLD Madonna's hand but I just want to say for everybody who didn't win pit tickets: it's not as great as it sounds!
Although, yes, you may get to touch HER hand and she once or twice comes up to you to sing a line or two, you CAN'T hear the music properly (the guitars you can't hear at all pretty much), or understand what she's saying when she speaks, or see the choreography, or get the feeling of the crowd and in a way of Madonna as she is obviously performing for the audience in front of her 95% of the time!
So really you don't feel like you've seen the show, but rather peeped through the curtains from backstage - which is interesting too and I feel very lucky, as it is a pretty unique experience, but I am SO RELIEVED that I have tickets for two more dates! I just thought I'd share this for anyone who is kicking themselves for not winning!

From Gray:
WOW! Esther continues to rule the performance world!
Unbelievable! She was superb. I loved the Revelation of The Beast Within - the jagged video and images of drinking wolves!
Starting off with the power-number 'Vogue' got everyone's attention - hearts were pumping and butts were up throughout the whole show. The first concert that I’ve been to were everyone dances and stands up in the seated areas throughout the show.
The Slow carnival version of Deeper and Deeper! Fantastic!
It seemed to flow so smoothly. Costume changes were mild but effective. I loved the mix of using the Missy Elliot/ Get Into The Hollywood/Gap Groove; Daft Punk's 'One More Time' in 'Holiday' and The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' in her Don't Tell Me. Military Rock vs. Trancy Pop. Doing her American Life rapping, sweet!
AHHHHH! I loved the mixed up video of Bjork's written 'BEDTIME STORY' ON VIDEO!
Fantastic with her playing guitar while she strut her stuff with old favourites like Material Girl and Burning Up! Spinning around with her loose blondes locks during 'Papa Don't Preach'.
And dedicating 'Crazy for You' to the fans was real crowd pleaser!
Oooh and the techno 'Die Another Day' was wicked and new 'Nothing Fails' and 'Nobody Knows Me'.
The religion stuff was great! The Baptist 'Like A Prayer'; The Tarot reading and the Fruedian images. Wow!
AHHHH! OKAY I know how sad this may sound but I cried three times! Once during HANKY PANKY! What a nice surprise! The second surprise was The Lament from EVITA which she sings as she is strapped down as kabbalah text flows in the background and the final suprise as when she sings John Lennon's 'Imagine' with images of war and hand lighters fill the air....
AH, and then finishing off with 'Holiday'! - Celebration in every nation!
AH - what a high!

From Anita:
Whilst not lucky enough to have pit tickets or have Madonna touch me (physically) - I have had the pleasure of attending the two Manchester shows and so far the first London show.
She is so fucking stunning. Each show I have seen I have been getting more and more excited - because I know I am just going to be thrilled and stunned.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! I love that she is showing off her singing abilities, her ability to re-invent the 'old' tunes into fabulous and sexy numbers (Burning up is my favourite re-worked) as well as re-inventing the new stuff (Nobody knows me) is fantastic!
She is looking so fucking hot! absolutely gorgeous! OH MY GAWD SHE IS GORGEOUS!
There have ben press reviews of the show being disjointed - no obvious thread between the apparent sections - I think the point is Madonna using her work to say what she wants to say: first of all showing us her beauty, to showing us her mind, to showing us her humour, to showing us her style - to then showing us her ability to take life by the balls and celebrate and enjoy it! Over the past 20 years this combination has succeed in making her....
And of course she does it like no-one else can. She is in a league of her own. She has said she doesn't like labels, and labels like Queen of pop or whatever are surely too pale to describe her abilities.
The thing I love the most though, is that she really seems to giving out a feeling that she is doing this for fans - her shows have been described as 'payback' and she really does seem to be wanting to reach out. I don't claim to know or understand Madonna - but dare I say she does seem to be being herself - not seen before in previous shows. I think this is what makes this show more special for me - there is something more of her that she is sharing - mainly that she is loving doing the shows and loving to show herself off. Madonna is the one who can do that best and she does so a trillion and one percent!
The whole show is fantastic - when I heard Hanky Panky was including I thought 'what' how embarassing! It works so well! And the bagpipes - again I thought Nooooo! But it works! - How could I have doubted the woman who is expert at surprises!
Thank you to Madonna. And thanks to the great crowds - the first crowd at Manchester seemed at bit stiff, the second was better and London last night was well into it. I have got practically no voice - I will find it again for tonight and the Wembley shows - I am sure.

From Ben:
Last night's show was simply STUNNING. It was everything I'd hoped for and more. Several times I was just giggling with excitement at what was happening on that stage! I went with 3 friends and we just partied and danced all night. No one sat down for the whole 2 hours. One of my friends had never been that keen on M, but she was Re-Invented last night!
The band were brilliant - loved all the new arrangements. Madonna herself was as everyone else has said, in superb voice throughout. Her vocals during Mother and Father are amazing! She dances a lot more than I'd been led to believe and the choreography was fantastic, especially during the last section - Into The Groove possibly the highlight for me - difficult to choose though.
The stage was so clever and inventive. Was a bit worried it would just be her against a video back drop but there's much more to it than that. Madonna did the usual dedication of Crazy For You to her fans and also Stella McCartney and some other friends she mentioned were there 'to support me'. Kylie Minogue and Geri Halliwell were also in the audience.
I only wish I could afford to see it again. It was spellbinding. Can't wait for the DVD!

From Carlton:
Madonna s concert last night was amazing....it's got to be up there with Blond Ambition! She looked fabulous....her voice was on top form and she seemed so relaxed and at ease with her performance. Favourite part for me was the Nothing Fails to Like A Prayer part....she is a goddess.

From Tom:
I attended the show at earls court on Wednesday and Madonna was on top form, she really enjoyed herself and told us that we 'took her by surprise' and that we 'were the best audience ever and she wasn't just saying that!'. From the moment the lights went down the whole arena went into a frenzy! Everyone was on their feet from beginning to end which was absolutely amazing, creating a buzzing atmosphere. The highlights for me were Express yourself (loved the come on boys bit!), Burning Up, Material Girl, Hanky Panky,I magine....actually the whole thing was AMAZING! Looking forward to Wembley now.

From Sarah:
Wow! What a show....everything you expect and more. At one point she told us 'you are the best audience ever!' and later she said 'It's SO good to be back home!'....the whole place went wild!
She threw her 'Brits do it better' t-shirt into the crowd, one lucky person has it today!
She thanked us for our support through the years and also said a special thank you to her friends Stella (McCartney) and Sharleen Spiteri who were at the show last night. Best show yet!

From Joanne:
'It's so good to be home' Madonna announced to a packed out Earls Court last night. And we were all delighted to have her back.
Tonight seemed flawless, her voice was great, impressing me most in Lament as she simply sang in the electric chair. Very moving.
The show was fantastic, moving seamlessly through the 'chapters' with moments of high energy and mania (Music, Express Yourself, American Life, Into the Groove and more!) contrasted brilliantly with slow and emotional renditions of the likes of Crazy For You, Imagine and Frozen.
The choreography, as we've come to expect, was brilliant. There was so much going on all the time with the screens, the catwalk, dancers emerging from under the stage almost constantly, definately a see twice concert - if you can afford it!
My personal fave was Nothing Fails. Not as well known as some but for me particularly moving.
The crowd was great. She told us off for not singing loud enough during Material Girl but we redeemed ourselves and by the end of Like A Prayer she said we were 'the best audience ever!' which of course we all loved. She gave a lot and seemed to be enjoying herself.
I could go on for ever, but I'll leave it there except to say Thanks to Madonna for giving us such a great show and revisiting the songs that first made us fall in love with you.

From John:
Well what a night, this was THE concert of my life. We didn't have great seats (block 46), but the view was still good and the atmosphere electric.
We danced and sang from start to finish, I clapped so much that I now have large bruises on each hand. My voice has nearly disappeared altogether.
Madonna said that we were the best audience ever and said that it was good to be home. I can't wait for the DVD to come out.

From Hayley:
Went to see Madge last night at her first Earls Court gig - what a fantastic show! The music was brilliant, plenty of old stuff and a few from her American life. The stage and set was amazing. I came away from the show elated - wish I could afford to go and see her again!

From Jason:
I have been a fan since Dress You Up and have been lucky enough to witness the BA and DW tours. Madonna's performance - singing and dancing was flawless. As with all her live performances the timing is critical and she never missed a cue. The video backdrops were inspired, a real feast for the eyes.
As a fan of 20 years I hope I can say this without sounding like a cynic....I would've liked to hear other oldies....Something To Remember, Live To Tell, Take A Bow (TAB really rejuvinated M's career after the Sex/Erotica period)....I understand the reason behind Lament and Imagine but I felt cheated somehow and they were the real low points of the show.
One other complaint - not enough interaction with the audience. We had good seats but we all felt M was doing her job (which is what we paid for). Yes she smiles now and is more amiable but I still felt that the moments she did speak to us were out of duty rather than to give us something personal.
In closing I left feeling elated, awestruck and wanting more - and let's face it after 20 years that has got to be an achievement. Long live the Queen Of Pop - long may she continue to reign.

From Amreen:
I found it so hard to sit in my seat as we all waited for M to come out I had butterflies each time the music changed. My hands were all cold but the wait was totally, totally worth it. When finally, the moment was upon us I thought my heart was going to explode with all the screaming. M and EC was rocking and the London crowd were going crazy. OMG she looked beautiful as ever and her voice was just amazing, very smooth and full of conviction. Ever since I bought my ticket I knew that this show was definately going to be the highlight of the year.
The new renditions of 'Burning Up' and 'Material Girl' were simply fab. Every single song blew me away the fun and thrills around 'Hollywood/Into the Groove', 'Papa Don't Preach' were excellent. 'Imagine' was just awesome and bought tears to my eyes as I felt so, so lucky and priviledged to be watching somone who I love with thousands who felt the same against a backdrop of those less fortunate. The end image of the Palestinian and Jewish kids togother was lovely and would be a dream come true.
The two hours just flew by....I didn't want the night end and so wish I had pit tickets. When M said that 'it was great to be home' I just wanted to give her a huge kiss and a hug to say 'thank you'. From start to finish the whole theatrical performance was an absolute masterpiece and if any famous wannabe's were there last night (I didn't see any) then please take note and make no mistake 'there is only one Queen and you were looking at her on stage - Queen M'

From Marc:
It started with celeb spotting at 8.30, by 8.45 we were foot stomping/mexican waving and by 8.55 she was out on stage in that fabulous corset. When you first see Madonna rise onto stage - there's just this undescribable energy that runs through the enitre arena. There really is nothing like it. Nothing beats the first glimpse you get of her face - as she poses in Vogue's intro. Everyone is transfixed on her.
Last nights audience was just wild, Madonna was so taken aback and even commented after Like A Prayer that 'we were the best audience ever'. Her voice was on such great form and she belted out songs such as Mother and Father with such an intense passion, you really couldn't help but feel moved, aswell psyched up to sing along. Imagine seemed excpetionally powerful last night, loads of us held one finger up in the air when she sung 'and the world will live as one'.
I found myself dancing like mad for the show and everytime she came over to our side I really put an extra effort into dancing just to encourage her. I was seated (well standing) in Block A1 so i guess she could see us pretty well, so wanted to make an effort for her. I love Music and always go exceptionally over the top for that one. Like A Prayer, Into the Groove and Papa Dont Preach sent the audience wild - I just couldn't help but soak up the atmosphere. Her performances are nothing short of mesmerising.

From Jonathan:
All I can say was that it was just incredible. I danced and sang and clapped throughout, and even though there were some sour-faced straight guys standing in my area, the energy from those of us who were getting in to it made the atmosphere amazing. Geri Halliwell was a few seats in front of me looking strangely human for once, and I saw Darren Hayes doing his best to look like a Flamboyant Gentlemen in a skin-tight fuchsia T-shirt.

From Monika:
Last nights concert was fantastic! I'm no longer a Madonna concert virgin! I sat Block A3 Row W. It wasn't front row but I'm so glad I got to experience the front block!
Once I entered I went straight to my seat. Yes, pathetic little me started to cry. What you don't know is that I'm a little Aussie from Adelaide who travelled all the way to London to see Madonna at both Earls Court show. Do you know how close I was? I was 24 rows front - this is the closest I have EVER been to Madonna. I looked up and there was the catwalk (that comes down during American Life and Holiday). She would walk right by me.
Waiting waiting waiting. Finally the centre started to fill with people. I heard some people were arrested last night for trying to scalp tickets. Those innocently trying to resell extra tickets were given a warning by police. This was all the exciting gossip before the show.
As we were waiting I heard some commotion in Block 1. I wondered what the hell was going on. A fight or something? No. Kylie Minogue was sitting there.
I had my trusty Aussie flag with me so I wondered out of my row and walked up to the barrier. I waved the flag. Kylie looked at me and yelled 'yeah!' and clapped her hands. I then went back to my seat.
I then heard 'Helloooo, Helloooo' in a Spice Girls accent. Shit, it was a Spice Girl! Geri Halliwell was being escorted to her seat by the police and a swarm of fans. It's so nice when pop princesses come out to show some respect to their Queen!
The light then went down. OH MY GAWD!
Yes, now it was real and I started to get teary. I'm pathetic I know. The show starts with the Beast Within and then leads into Vogue where she comes out the floor. She was wearing a bue corset which is different to the gold on in America.
OMG! THERE SHE WAS!
The show was absolutely brilliant and when the catwalk came down she was sooooooooooooo close. I could not believe it.
I cried when she sang John Lennon's imagine which she dedicated to children suffering from famine or war. The images where amazing and very touching. A lot of the audience were doing peace signs and everyone was singing.
Another song I cried in was Crazy For U which she dedicated to all her fans.
The crowd last night was pumping and Madonna said it was the best audience ever! I'm glad to be there!
The show ended with Holiday. Lots of confetti went all over the crowd. WOW.
My favourite moment was definitely Nobody Knows Me. I love the song and I love her moves in it. I need to install a moving catwalk in my bedroom now ;P
I must say that this was *the* best concert I've ever been to.

From Tim:
From start to finish I was dancing and singing along to all of her hits. I particulary liked Don't Tell Me mixed with Bittersweet Symphony. IT was such a nice touch.
One tune that I have not heard anyone mention was "Papa Don't Preach" being mixed with cosmos - Take Me With You. The two went togther really well. "Papa Don't Preach" was one of the highlights of the night.
Reading previous reports about madonna telling people 'to get out of your seats', I don't think I heard her mentioning this last night, as everybody was up out of their seats. She even said we were the best crowed yet!
I was dissapointed that as a fan of over 10 years, I share the same seating as these two girls who just seemed to be more concerned about how they looked and going to the bar and getting drinks all the time whilst staying away for a good half an hour at a time - hello! How the hell are people like this allowedto get seats!
What a brilliant show, and tour merchandise. Their was so much going on on the stage and at times with the imagery, it was a little hard to get the show as a whole. I hope this comes out on DVD soon, it was brilliant. Some of the reports about Madonna's show being disappointing, I have one thing to say, what the hell does a 46 year old yoga bending, talented and totally stunning performer have to do to convince you!

From Paul And Jennifer:
We went to Blond Ambition and The Girlie Show....the Re-Invention tour WOW. We were lucky enough to sit in block A2, and although the tickets were £150 each we both felt it was the best £150 we had ever spent. The cat walk came down and there she was above my shoulder, she was totally awsome....

From Paul M:
VIVA MADONNA! 2nd time I've been to this tour and the performance is just flawless. More theatre than concert and more proof that madonna is indeed the 'Queen Of Pop'. I've been to shows by Kylie, Britney etc. and no one can touch Madonna.
Once the excitement surrounding Kylie and Stella McCartney being in attendance had died down it was Madonna-mania all the way. In pulling tracks from throughout her career she has included something for everyone in this show.
If anyone is having any doubts about going to the last few shows....stop thinking and get those tickets!

From Jenifa:
WHAT A SPECTACULAR SHOW!
Last night was the most amazing show of my life. It was flawless, SHE was flawless. I'm still on a high from it now 24 hours after! The whole atmosphere and energy of Madonna and the audience was overwhelming.
I can't even say what bits were my favourite because it ALL was. From beginning to end the whole audience was dancing and singing with her. Worth every single penny (and can't wait to go again!) Thank you Madonna.

From Georgia:
The show was incredible; my first Madonna concert and worth every single penny. Crazy For You was wonderful when she sang it to the crowd and I'm amazed she played my all-time favourite Burning up.
The audience were really good, I don't think we let her down. I don't remember one person sitting....we were standing on our seats!
We gave her a big warm welcome home, and boy did she deliver. Voice perfect and the background video installations were superb. I wish I was going again. And damn it, I wish I'd been in the pit!

From Michelle:
Went with my sister Amanda, our first ever Madonna gig, all I can say is that she was well worth the wait! We were totally blown away with her stamina, 2 hours straight without a break. We had read various press reports, but we can assure everyone that the only ones you should believe are the ones sent by the fans who went. We can assure she doesnt disappoint. My sister loved burning up, I think my favourite was Papa Don't Preach, which has always been one of my favourites, only wish we could go again!

From Simon:
I went to see Madonna yesterday and she was FANTASTIC! I really love Madonna and seeing her like I did has really made my ultimate dream come true.
I don't think anything or anyone in the music industry could replace what I saw yesterday! If anybody hasn't seen her - get off your arses and see her!

From Kirsten:
The first Earls Court night was amazing. Everything was right: the show, the voice, the costumes....
She seemed so relaxed, though little things happened, as the electric chair was stuck on it's way up and a few micro adjustments were needed.
I just loved it, it was different to DWT, it was more personal. It just was a perfect evening.

From JFK:
Anyone who says that they have witnessed the greatest show on earth is exaggerating unless they had the privilege of being at Earls Court on Wednesday 18th August 2004. I have seen a few live concerts in my time but never Madonna, and never anything approaching what I feasted on from the 5th row in front of that amazing stage. I am a recent convert to this phenomenon that they call Madonna but have followed her career fairly closely since the Holiday / LAV / Crazy For You era ( I am at a certain age and this era is still classed as recent!)
Lets not be under any illusion here. What this lady does is PERFORM ON STAGE! She does everything else that all other legends do as well, but the CDs, the books, the films, the art, the messages, are all a brilliant secondary diversion to what she really does - PERFORM ON STAGE.
If you are offered a ticket to one of these shows - get it! Even if it means that you have to spend every penny you have - you will never regret it.

From Nick:
What can I say, other than what a completely amazing show? It was worth ten times the ticket price to be that close to her and to hear Like A Prayer, Papa Don't Preach and Crazy For You live after all these years. Just incredible. Her voice was crystal clear, so much stronger than on the Drowned World Tour. Frozen and the stripped down version of Deeper And Deeper really showed how good her voice is on this tour.
I was sat just behind Geri Halliwell, but missed all the fuss over Kylie and Dannii - I could see the audience going mad and loads of cameras going off, but even stood on my seat I couldn't see what all the fuss was about.
Favourite moments must be Like A Prayer, Imagine, and when Madonna told us 'It feels so good to be home' at which the place went crazy. The audience interaction really made the night - with comments like 'Are you enjoying yourselves? I am!' and 'You're the best ever, you've surprised me' after Like A Prayer, the whole show felt like a celebration for everyone on the stage as much as those watching. Madonna seemed cold to the audience on Drowned World, with just a 'Thank You, Goodnight' but on this tour we've seen a happy, smiling Queen of Pop.
I was lucky enough to be right in front of the podium where she sang Nothing Fails and Crazy For You, and I'm still getting over the shock of catching M's sweaty 'Brits Do It Better' T-shirt at the end of the song. It's dried out now, but I'll treasure it forever, along with the incredible memories I've got of seeing her at her best. Which just leaves me to say a huge thank you to Madonna for such an emotional and exciting night.

From Graham:
I attended the Aug 18th opening night in London. What can I say. The best show I have ever and possibly will ever see. From the moment the lights went down, Madonna kicked ass. Vogue and Nobody Knows Me were fantastic. Express Yourself and American Life were excellent. The guitar playing was wicked and the song line up was genius.
Madonna looked amazing, as did the dancers, and the sets were fabulous. From my seat in the first block stage left, I could see Madge climbing in and out of the stage. It was incredible.
Kylie Minogue was in the audience - Watch and learn Kylie. The same goes for all the other wannabes. They ought to remember who set the standard. This show should remind everyone exactly what Madonna has done. People go around saying Madonna should hang up her mic - I don't think so!
I'm getting a ticket for Wembley too asap. Thankyou Madonna for giving us what we want on this tour, and I look forward to the next time.

From Fiona:
I have just about recovered from the most amazing show I have ever seen and ever likely to see. There I was on Wednesday 18th August, with many others waiting eagerly to see Madonna.
She didn't appear on stage until near 9pm, but it was well worth the wait, soon enough the video screens came on,and the words to 'The Beast Within' were heard....but soon enough there she was....Madonna appeared on a podium in the now lilac/blue corset, looking totally fantastic, well toned and stunning.she strutted her stuff to 'Vogue', and did the now world famous 'backward' yoga position we all read about, now we saw it for real....the continuity of the show was excellent!
It was amazing to hear and see my Icon in the flesh at long last....after being a fan for 19yrs. There she was. I loved the jazzy version of 'Deeper and Deeper'....and the Tango choreography to 'Die another Day' was fantastic! 'Like A Prayer' had everyone dancing and clapping, was a very electric moment, everyone came together for that moment, not one person was sitting down. 'Don't tell me' had a new twist, with 'The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' entwined, it sounded awesome!
Tears welled in my eyes when she sung 'Nothing Fails' that song moves me so much, and to see her sing it for me and everyone else was quite emotional. The best moment came for me when the bagpipers came on, and did their piece, being a proud Scot, I was very proud to see Scotland featured in the show, Madonna and her dancers lifted up their kilts to spell out 'FREEDOM' on their tartan shorts! I waved my saltire flag in appreciation. 'Papa Don't Preach' was great with Madonna and her dancers having a wee game of 'Ring a Ring a Rosies' at one point.
When Madonna took to the walkway, I was stunned, she was only 15-20ft away from my right....could see her eyemake up really well. Thank you Madonna for the years of joy your music has brought to my life, and a fantastic show! 'LONG LIVE THE QUEEN OF POP....WE WON'T TELL YOU TO STOP!'

From Mike:
Well what can I say! This is my 3rd Madonna show and the best one yet! Her voice during Lament was superb....and of course all songs....
Madonna proved once more, she is still the Queen Of Pop! Long Live Madonna!

From Stephen:
Well what can I say what others have not already? I am so glad I bought tickets for this show, I had previously been to the opening show at Manchester and was angry/disappointed that the audience seemed so cold and boring, I had to give people looks to get out of there seats and dance eventually I moved. What a surprise at London where from the minute we walked in there was a party atmosphere, although we had to get security as 2 guys were sat in the aisles and had snuk in with no tickets!
I can't believe the contrast between Manchester and London, what a fab night I had, and coming from Edinburgh I loved the whole tartan theme, highlight of the night was Into The Groove, I have seen every tour now apart from The Girlie Show and this as to be on par if not better than Blond Ambition, bring on the DVD and yes BRITS CERTAINLY DO IT BETTER!

From Michelle:
She was at her peak, very strong vocals and the atmosphere in the venue was amazing, we couldn't wait to see that first glimpse of her.
Kylie turned up top see the show but Kylie look and learn from the one and only Queen. She gave a truely fantastic show better than Drowned World tour well done you gave us exactly what we wanted to see.

From Dean:
I have just returned back to Cornwall after seeing Madonna three times. The first was on Wednesday 18/8 at Earls Court....I was one of the lucky ones to win tickets for the Dance Pit from MTV. It was something I will never forget and I was lucky enough to get touched by Madonna which was incredible.
The left pit was excellent and got lots of attention from Madonna and the dancers. I also met some cool people...hi to Clare, Vicky & Mark and Mel.
The following concerts on the Thursday and Sunday were also incredible and were experiences I will never forget. She looked fantastic and her voice was amazing.

From Adele:
OMG! OK, it's been nearly a week now since I saw MADONNA live, and I still cant find any words to describe it! The atmosphere - oh my God, anything you would ever imagine or dream a Madonna concert would be like, 50 million times better, it was un-be-lievable! The best day of my life! She didnt mess up (very proud!) she said we were the best crowd EVER! And that she wasnt just saying that! It all feels sooo surreal now!
Totally worth the money and the wait! She came on 50 mins late, just because she can! But it got you even more exited! Totally awsome! She looked stunning, her voice was flawless and dancing was amazing! Altogether an amazing spectacle! Well done Madge!

Thursday 19 August - Earls Court, London

From Paul:
Just got back from tonight’s show, 19 August 04....what a complete rush, this show surpassed all of her previous shows.
Madonna reigns supreme, the dancers were fantastic and the crowd wild from The Beast Within, through to the close with Holiday. Technically, it was just sensory overload I just did not know where to look next! Through the two hour set, Vogue sent shivers through me, Burning Up was a real treat and other personal highlights were just all the classics and Bedtime Stories interlude was simply stunning.
In conclusion, what a night of sheer unadulterated pleasure and memories of tonight I will treasure.

From Mark:
Just back from tonights Earls Court concert and I am still in a trance. All I can say is Wow! She didn't need to mention the Queen in her speech before Crazy For You. Her fans know that she is the only Queen for us. The sets, choreography, vocals and star power are still there. Long may the only Queen Of Pop reign.
My favourites were Vogue, Die Another Day, Lament, and Into the Groove. Pure class :0)

From Aman:
I just got back now, and what a show it was. The whole audience in block 14 did not sit down even once, it was like one big PARTY. It has to be one of my favourite Madonna concert, and hearing 'Crazy For You' and 'Burning Up', were mind blowing. I loved it when Madonna said at the end of 'Don't Tell Me' (Don't tell me to stop you m****r f****r's) pointing out to all her critics, you go girl.

From Jody:
Just in from the 2nd night at Earls Court London and WOW what a show, gets better even 3rd time round! Tonight she again forgot the words to Material Girl, this must be coming pretty standard now , she also said how when she first came to England 20 years ago how much she hated it and hated the cold, didn't understand all the drinking, and generally just hated it and then said how now she lives in London which got the crowd going, and that her band are all British and she has a British husband and then said 'Come on, Im wearing a fucking kilt for christs sake!'
She also said how she invited the Queen to the gig, and then said how it probably wouldn't be too hard to find a queen in the audience! He He! The crowd were OK but I heard louder cheering in NYC in June. And again she asked the crowd to get up and dance for 'Like A Prayer' because its a non-sit-down song! Other than that the night was fantastic, a bit gutted I won't be seeing her like for a long time, well, until the DVD comes out of course!
Can I also say, well done to the crowd for the best mexican wave I've ever seen at any gig! Amazing! Lol!

From Brian:
Last night was my second night in the company of Mrs. Ritchie. The seats we had, despite being top price, were vastly inferior to last night's but, as we knew the show was amazing, we weren't that bothered! The audience took a little longer to get going than the night before, but M rocked Earl's Court from the minute she appeared on stage. I swear I was nearly hysetrical once again!
There were some wonderful references to M having invited The Queen to the show! How fab - The Queen of Pop invites The Queen of England! M's humour is becoming decidedly British! On Wednesday night she said that she was pleased to be home before 'Crazy for You'; last night, she made us all whoop and choke with delight when she explained that when she first came here 20 years ago, the sun never shone, she didn't get the humour, or the food, but now it was her home. I was almost in tears!
So, the musical highlights of Re-Invention for me are the awesome arrangement and staging of 'Into The Groove' (I just love it when Missy Elliot appears on the video screens, tartan-clad and rapping), and the brilliant way 'Don't Tell Me' samples The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony'. I've never cared for 'Don't Tell Me' at all - M truly has ReInvented it to make it a highlight for me.
Wembley? BRING IT ON!

From Karyn:
Still getting over it! Was in block 29 great view, started the mexican wave! Great night this is the third time I have seen Madonna, this was the best! The entrance was beautiful, Vogue was stunning. Had tears when she sung Imagine, so many emotions in one night! Hoilday was amazing.

From Monika:
Last night I went to my second RIT concert. WOW. I was still jetlagged from flying over here from Australia (I only arrived on the 16th) and I wondered how the hell I was going to stay awake. All that faded when the lights were down. Suddenly, I was full of energy. Jetlag....what jetlag?
My friend and I were in Block 4. It was a lot further back than the A block tickets we had on the 18th. At first I was a little disappointed but once the show started I was actually grateful for sitting there. I could see EVERYTHING! As it was a tiered section there were not a lot of heads that blocked my view. I could also see all the dancing on the stage that I couldn't see stage level the night before.
The concert was brilliant. She has so much energy! Again, I was moved to tears during Imagine and Crazy For You. Like the previous night, a lot of people were doing peace signs including myself and roared when the picture of John Lennon came up. Brilliant.
Security in this section wasn't so strict so I managed to get a few more photos in. Actually, from my Block 4 view I found it hilarious looking into the crowd and seeing a sea of mobile phones recording the concert. Hee hee....a lot more web footage to come I'm sure!
This tour was definitely worth the $6000AUD I have paid. Everything was worth it! By far, the best concert experience I have ever witnessed!

From Shima:
I have to admit that I have been lucky enough to see all of Madonna's shows going back to the first ever world tour of Who’s That Girl! Esther was awesome last night, the best I have ever seen her, she sang and danced her heart out and the crowd sang and danced their hearts out too! The atmosphere was electric, Madonna has become a accomplished guitarist far better than the Drowned World tour, she certainly was more confident at that!
When she sang 'don’t tell me to stop', I cried! And as soon as I heard Holiday that was it again I shouted no as were coming to the end of something I have to say can not be described and summed up in a few words. Seeing is believing!

From Darrell:
What can I say, every inch the icon and show-woman....a true pro who has never sounded better...nice to hear American Life material....Nothing Fails made the hair on my neck stand up! Far more personal than Drowned World....worth every penny.

From Colin And Hylton:
What a night we had at Earls Court last night, the second show we have seen so far. We went to Manchester last Sunday and didn't really think it could get any better. Well we were so wrong! Last night was just unbelievable. The energy in the crowd was electric....this was sparked by our best attempt to start a mexican wave, which after a few attempts actually worked!
Our first night I think was just too big to really enjoy the show as much as we did last night, with emotions and nerves fully charged, the reality of seeing Her Madgesty live was just totally overwhelming for the two boys from South Africa.
I think what we realised last night was the impact one person can have on so many souls and how people are changed forever by this. Just looking over the crowd seeing faces from all different backgrounds, places and age groups, and we were all there only for one reason, MADONNA! MADONNA! MADONNA!
Being at the ripe age off 30 we almost forget that what we went through 20 years ago, is still happening now. On our way home we met this boy on the train and was surprised to hear that he was just 16. We started talking and exchanging Madonna stories. It was so incredible to hear that MUSIC was the first album that attracted him to Madonna (ours being TRUE BLUE). He did make a little remark that his Dad has the vinyl lying around somewhere! Its good to know that this Circle of Madonna will continue for always.
The 'madgic' of what we experienced last night transported us to a place we have never been before, leaving our bodies at the end aching and drenched with pure enjoyment, for that we will always be grateful and made this trip to the UK worth more than the money we spent.
Thank You Madge! We are TRULY Lucky Stars!

From George:
What can I say after two nights with Madonna?! Wow! It was the experience of my life. I am from Bulgaria and I alway knew that she wont come to Bulgaria and I have never imagined that I could see her. And now this is reality!
For the first night I won tickets through VH1 for the pit and me and my friend we went there. We were in the right pit, it was amazing! Even I had the chance to touch her! I danced and sung all the time even that in a moment the security guard asked me to calm down or I am going out! Can you imagine and I sked him why we are here then?
Last night I was in block 28 row A and could to see the show from other way! Whaouuuuuuuu I have not any words to express it! Magical....now I am impatient to see her in Paris in two weeks!

From Claire:
The crowd waited excitedly when it turned 8.00? Where was she? Suddenly at quarter to nine, (I would have waited till 3.00 in the morning), the lights drpped, and madonna dressed all in red flashed on the screens. I started to have butterflies grow in my tummy, and then I saw a new heaven-Madonna! People screamed, cried (as did I) and reached out to her! She was dressed in sky blue, with her gorgeous hair flowing in the lights. Her dancers were exqusite-as were her band. (A biggup to everyone involved by the way! :))
Time stood still for me when she sang Imagine and Crazy For You. Her presence was outstanding. It was the greatest event of my life. As we left and got into a taxi, I turned to the billboard Madonna and blew a kiss....here's looking at you, kid.

From Mark:
What a fanastic performance from Madonna last night. I have been to all of Madonna's tours and this is without a doubt the best show ever. When she rose above the stage and began Vogue the crowd went crazy. Nobody Knows Me was incredible I loved the moving walkway.
When she sang Like A Prayer it was like nothing I have ever witnessed, the whole arena dancing, singing and cheering together. Madonna looked stunning and has never sounded better the costumes and dancers added to the spectacle.
When Madonna dedicated Crazy For You to her fans for supporting her for the last 20 years I shed a tear. I have been a fan since the begining and Madonna has given me so much pleasure listening to her music, watching her videos and going to her shows.
I am glad that the tracks she chose to perform from American Life were well received by the crowd particularly Nothing Fails. Madonna is simply in a another league, a fantastic performer and an amazing artist. Music and Holiday left the crowd wanting more.
Thanks Madonna for a brilliant night of entertainment you truly are the best, looking forward to seeing you at 2 more shows at Wembley.
Oh just one other thing where were all the rows and rows of empty top priced seats the press were reporting? Some people just can't stand success!

From Hannah:
What an incredible night! My friend and I simply danced the night away and sang to our hearts content in the one and only right dance pit! It was totally breathtaking and even now it is so very hard to believe we were right there with her! AND to simply top it all she actually lent down into our pit and I managed to gently hold her hand - AMAZING! I was also lucky enough to have a second high five with her! She also teased us with her headband as we all eagerly waited and pleaded for her to drop it to us she simple shook her head with a cheeky, sweet smile!
She was absolutely stunning and a total goddess! I can not thank my best friend George, who won the pit tickets, enough for taking me and I would really, really appreciate you posting this on your fab website and along with a MASSIVE, thank you message! LUV YA GEORGE and can't wait to see Madonna again on Monday!

From Rooey:
I went last night to the RIT at Earls Court, and all I can say is FAN FUCKING TASTIC! It just refuels my admiration for the woman who has been part of my life for the last 20 years....she was on top form all night and I can't fault anything at all. The screens were fabulous, she looked amazing, and on top of that, I got ferociously undercharged at the merchandise stand!

From Iain:
Amazing. After being a lifelong fan, since I saw Madge perform Like A Virgin on Top of the Pops in 1984, an amazing moment happened for me during the second night at Earls Court.
I was incredibly fortunate enough to have gotten seats in Block A in the second row, and during Crazy for You I managed to get her attention, she sung 'you feel it in my kiss' to me and blew me a kiss, smiled and we locked eyes just for a second. WOW!
I attended the Saturday night Manchester gig also, however I was in the back block, and although it was a good view and I could see everything clearly, the experience of being so close to her and the atmosphere in the second row at Earls Court was incomparable.
I don't know whether it was just because I was so far back but I thought the atmosphere was really tame in Manchester. I stood up when Vogue started and was asked if I could sit down by the people behind me - boring tw*ts! so I told them to P*ss off and got evils off them all night.
Gwen Stefarni was behind me in the third row and I think Chris Martin from Coldplay was well (who came over to Gwen at one point for a chat).
The Beast Within was incredible - a brilliant way to begin the show. The way that the screens were used throughout the show were staggering. I liked the idea that the band were completely separate and off stage - so it felt like a piece of theatre rather than a conventional gig.
I loved the spectacle of the stage when filled with dancers, but I have to say I enjoyed it most when it was just her on stage. For a small lady, her command of the stage was breathtaking (especially in big numbers like Nobody Knows Me). Her voice was flawless throughout. I was surprised that Lament worked so well within the set as I thought it would feel out of place, like Don't Cry for me....does on GHV2.
Its a shame that there wasn't a single released t to accompany the tour, Nobody Knows Me I think would have been the best choice.
Great to her all the old stuff and we all have our old favourites that didn't make the show, mine in particular being Keep it Together (as it worked so well in BA), Borderline, Beautiful Stranger, Everybody, and Angel. The mix of old and new was fantastic and for me the new material deffo was the strongest and a great way to silence the critics who have slagged off American Life. Die Another Day, Hollywood, Mother and Father and, as already mentioned, Nobody Knows Me were my particular favourites.
What has disappointed me though is the amount of bullshit about ticket sales in the press, the two shows that I went to I didn't see one spare seat. I know that some of the production seats haven't sold but who wants to see a show like that from an obscured view from the back of the stage....if the worst they can say is that she's too old to be doing this now, then that's fine it says more about them then it does about Madge.
Lets start the pressure now to get a live album release of the Re-Invention tour....it would be great to have these sensational new mixes of tracks from right across the 20 years committed to CD on one collection and being able to re-live the concert again and again. Please email Madonna's management so this happens.
Once again thank you Madonna for still coming up with the goods, being consistently original and continually proud to have been a fan of yours for 20 years, and of course the kiss!

From Rob:
The whole experience was mind blowing from the enchanting Steven Klein shots in the opening sequence to the shower of confetti in Holiday.
This is the 4th Madge tour I've seen and by far the best. The theme of the show that will stay with me is simply 'Re-invent Yourself' and Madge being 46 and still being at the top of her game has given me confidence to look at myself and make some changes to my life. Madge Rocks!

From Henry:
Earls Court, 19.08.2004 - a date that I had been waiting for four months was finally here! I flew in from Iceland in the morning, trying very hard to think about something other then the upcoming concert.
This was my first time ever at a Madonna concert, even though I have been a major fan for 18 years. There was always something holding me back in the past (my age, location and on the DWT it was money matters). But last Thursday night was amazing!
I almost had a nervous breakdown when I was walking up the stairs at the venue and it finally hit me that my lifelong dream was about to come true - I was finally going to see the woman that had shaped my life so much. Me and my friend who was with us were having a fit over all the merchandise - we had to wait for probably 40 minutes in the queue. I bought two T-shirts, buttons, program, keychain, posters, candle, necklace....I wanted everything actually! I'm ordering some of the stuff I didn´t buy from Fanfire.com.
After I had bought my items, my bf came rushing to let me know that the time was 20:15 and the show was supposed to start at 20:00. We went into the stadium, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the stage. And I got even more excited when I saw how close we would be sitting (actually, not THAT close but still much better seats then I thought they would be). Everytime the songs from the speakers stopped there was a big applause but the show didn't start. People were doing mexican waves and you could feel the excitement. Then, finally, the show started.
I can´t describe how I felt - so many things were going through my head and I knew that Madonna would be on stage soon. And then, all of a sudden, she was! I couldn´t believe it! And from that moment on, I was in a different world. I didn´t really notice anything except her - I didn´t see much of the screen projections, I didn´t notice the dancers, I just focused on her.
The show was over SO quickly, and this would be my only show from this tour. But I have so many moments from the show burned in my memory - my favourites were Vogue, Nobody Knows Me, Lament, Crazy For You, Deeper And Deeper, Imagine, Nothing Fails - OK, the whole show really! During Like A Prayer the crowd went wild, it was fantastic to her Madonna sing this song again.
There were so many people at the show wearing AWESOME T-Shirts and some were wearing whole outfits (one I remember was the complete LAV outfit from BA - very cool!). When we were leaving there were people singing Madonna songs (two girls walking down the street in front of EC were singing Don´t Tell Me), a lot (!) of people were holding the tour program and other items and on the street there were people selling T-shirts.
On the train on our way back to the hotel there were a lot of Madonna fans and I remember that I felt so happy, but also a little sad that the show was over - I had been waiting for this for 18 years and it went buy so fast. But NOTHING will stop me from seeing the Queen again live on her next tour!
