Sunday 26 October - United Center, Chicago

From Brad:
This was the third straight time I’ve seen Madonna @ United Center, Reinvention, Confessions, and Sticky & Sweet tours. Lots of energy, and like most the crowd, we stood the whole time dancing along, song after song. Was this my favorite show? I would have to say no, and I’ll explain that it just a minute.
I will say this, that, this is most she’s danced in any of the last three concerts. Amazing how she keeps up with her dancers which most them, are half her age. Its no wonder she’s thinner than she probably should be, but who wouldn’t be as much energy and the work out she puts into this particular show. I also feel with what’s going on in her personal life, may attribute to the ‘haters’ that say, 'oh, she’s just too skinny, etc....etc....' She’s only human folks!
In fact, the few times I looked at the big screens, you could almost see it her eyes, that this is a challenging time in her life. It doesn’t stop her though, because she is, and will always be a survivor, and she’ll get through this.
We had the best seats we’ve ever had out of all the shows we’ve seen. I appreciate that she had a live band on this tour, because, as we know, if any of us have seen her more than once, each show is so different than the one before. I admire that she likes to take risks, and tries new things at each concert.
With that in mind, I thought there were several times throughout the night, the band seemed to drown out her vocals, which I hate to say this, unfortunately came across as fingernails on a chalkboard. Distortion, at times. In a nut shell, on the Confessions tour, Stuart Price was a much better mix than the live band. With him at the keyboards, the sound was flawless, every single song.
I’ll end with this, Madonna, thank you for a wonderful night, we hated to leave and we look forward to seeing you again at The United Center in about two years. You are loved!

From John S:
We were in row four next to stage. During Into The Groove, Madonna handed microphone to guys behind us in row five, but they were a little shy, so my two friends ended up singing over the speakers to the crowd. It was an awesome show, Guy Oseary was right next to us and talking to us. We told him what a fantastic job on this tour they've all done. He was taking lots of pictures with a digital camera of Madonna. She ended up singing Beautiful Stranger but we had to help as she forgot the words! Too much fun!

From Lisa:
Madonna was amazing last night. She was much more personable than any previous show I have seen. She was constantly saying 'Chicago' and 'Chi-Town' and had a lot more audience interaction. She also played a lot of old school stuff that had new twists on it. The show was a blast and Madonna always surpasses my expectations. Long reign the Queen.

Monday 27 October - United Center, Chicago

From AmMar:
I've been to both shows of Chicago and like always Madonna was great and her fans made her feel so welcome and they danced and jumped to her songs.
The most beautiful part was in last night's show (Monday) in the request section, a guy on the first row (his name is Kerry, she asked about his name), he requested her to sing 'Dress You Up'....and IT WAS WONDERFUL. We all knew the words....and SHE was having SO MUCH FUN singing the old classic and we all (people and Queen) enjoyed singing almost the whole song.
The night before (Sunday), Madonna sang 'Beautiful Stranger' (few lines only before she starts 'Hung Up' but it was also great....and the crowd were very happy to hear that one too.
Madonna urged people to go to vote and to take responsibility for that. (That was before she starts 'Ray Of Light').
Madonna made everybody forget about the cold weather. The whole thing was just GREAT....and two unforgettable evenings Chicago had with the Queen of Pop.

From Anne:
I just had the time of my life at the United Center for Madonna's tour. I was lucky enough to get seats thirteen rows back next to the catwalk, so I was dead center on the side of the smaller stage. Madonna looked amazing - she was much more chatty with the crowd than she was last night.
Last night her request song was 'Beautiful Stranger' and she only sang a line or two from it. Tonight it was 'Dress You Up' and she sang the whole song with the crowd. She sounded great without any additional instrumentation, just her voice.
The highlight of the night for me when during 'Give It 2 Me'....first she went up to my buddy Lance who was at the catwalk two rows behind me and he got to sing into the mic while she smiled and gyrated in front of him. And then she came up to me! She smiled and put the microphone in my face and the next thing I know I'm singing into the mic and the whole time making eye contact with Madonna!
I was lucky enough four years ago to win tickets to be in the dance pit during the Re-Invention tour and I would say that this experience is right on par with that one!

From Don:
Tonight's show was just good as last night! The bonus for tonight was, Dress You Up during the request section. She did it for the request tonight and did over half of the song. She was really into it and at the end even said that was a good pick! Again she did not chat a lot however seemed to be having fun. The odd thing was she was more chatting in Boston on the 15th when the divorce announcement was made then she was at both Chicago shows. I personally think the audiences at both the Chicago shows were much more into the shows then in Boston!

From Mark:
I had an incredible time in Chicago last night at the United Centre and I wanted to acknowledge something I feel is a negative presented in the media that she is cold in her concerts.
Last night in the wintry Arctic tundra of Chicago the United Centre heated itself up in an excitement of smiles, and much enjoyment coming from the crowds and most notably from Madonna herself.
I didn't expect this concert to have such beauty, elegance and tenderness from all the photos and footage I have seen. The way the concert can move so quickly from one space to another space is quite extraordinary.
One thing that I think is really extraordinary is the concerts relationship to time and the precision that this demands. This I think is the uniqueness of a Madonna concert where Madonna and her dancers and musicians are so incredibly timed to the last second.
This timing is like a old wind up watch when you see it live and you know that the choreography is connected to the music, the incredible video displays and the singing and the dancing.
To me this is what gives the concert such focus when you know there is such a rigourous demand and commitment coming from so many perspectives. This is what gives the concert its energy and emotional impact.
What a treat for those who have yet to see this work.

From Mary:
Will I ever be able to sleep again? I just got home from Madonna's Monday night concert at The United Center in Chicago. I am so jazzed up that I cannot even think about going to sleep yet. Madonna hit the stage forty minutes late, but the crowd didn't seem to mind, in fact I think they expected it from Sunday night reviews in the newspapers this morning.
I have seen the Drowned World Tour and Confessions Tour and I thought there was no way to top the last tour, but I'll be damned if she didn't do it. I was so excited to see and feel her energy- and she danced SO MUCH that I found myself falling in love with Madonna all over again!
Her voice was great and her dance moves were impeccable. She slipped on the wedding veil during 'She's Not Me' and then picked up the veil to strangle one of her incarnations. It was quite humorous. She seemed in a great mood and spoke to the audience quite a lot.
There was a very over zealous fan in the front row - who danced like crazy the entire time - so she asked him which song he'd like to request. He said, 'Dress You Up'. She said, 'You see, my problem with the old songs are that I don't remember all the words - so - I'll do it- but you guys have got to help me sing it.' She began the song and the audience took over and sang right along through the entire song. Madonna seemed very pleased. She finished the song and asked the young man what his name was, 'Jerry!' he said loudly. Madonna said, 'Well, Jerry, that was a good request. That went over well. Thank you.'
Other than that - she made some funny comments about Chicago, 'Chicago, Chicago, My Kind of Town' and 'What's up Chi-town?' She seemed chatty - saying before 'Heartbeat' that she didn't know the people in the audience were professional singers.
During the 'Get Stupid' video - when the screen showed Barack Obama - the crowd went nuts (as Obama lives in Chicago.) She also said that we all needed to vote.
It was a great show. I was proud of our girl Madonna! She rocked it - and she looked and sounded the best I've ever heard her sound. If anyone has a chance to see this tour - IT IS A MUST! I danced and sang for 2 hours straight - well....not as hard as Madonna did....but you know what I mean. Also, I'd read somewhere that she didn't say 'Thank You' at the end of some of the concerts. However, she danced to the top of the staircase at the end of 'Give It 2 Me' and gave us a huge smile and said, 'Thank you Chicago! Have a good night!' And went off with a huge smile on her face.
When the lights came up the song 'Holiday' blared throughout the venue and it was funny to watch all of the fans going down the stairs and escalators singing 'Holdiay' at the top of their lungs. It was great!

From Patrick:
My brother and I, who have been long time fans since we were children, went to the Sticky & Sweet Tour in Chicago this Monday. We had the worst seats in the house, all the way on the top balcony. Someone from backstage grabbed us out of our seats and asked us if we wanted to sit front row, and in return all we had to promise was that we'd sing, dance and scream and yell. On top of all that Madonna asked my brother Jerry to request a song. He requested 'Dress You Up.' It was one of the best moments of our lives.
