Tuesday 23 September - Donauinsel, Vienna

From Alex:
I've been at the Vienna concert and the show was amazing. Right infront of the stage and Madonna smiled a lot to the audience, but at the end she showed us the middle finger because the crowd was not singing loud enough with her.... :-)

From Diana:
I was at the Madonna concert in Vienna. This was my first Madonna concert, so I can't really compare it with anything, but it was amazing.
I did not think it was cold at all because I was in the masses and the dancing and movement made us all soooo hot. She was amazing. The girl is FIERCE and she knows how to entertain.
It's true that on the Ray Of Light, she sounded awful, maybe there was a problem with the sound system, because she was not loud enough either. It sounded like she could not hear herself. There were some other places where she didn't hit the right notes, but honestly I only realized that when I was watching the videos that I took. When you are there, you are so much into the show, that you don't notice any problems.
Anyway, it was so embarrassing when she made us sing 'Dress You Up.' First she dropped the microphone, then asked how she can perform without a mic. Then 'Are you freezing cold?' NOO 'My hands are cold and I have to keep clapping to keep them warm. But just because you've been so patient, I'm gonna sing an old song for you. OK?' OOOH 'Yeah?' YEAHHH 'Dress You Up.' She was singing acapella while we were clapping, so she gave us the first line. But most of us did not know the words, so almost nobody sang, and she's like 'That's, that's SHIT! Common Vienna'.
After a few more tries, it felt like she really wanted to embarrass us, but then she made us do the high-pitched Ooh-ooh, and we all could do that. 'See you can sing that, can't you. Very simple....Works in every language. Alright motherfuckers, now you're gonna hear a really good song. You better sing along....none of this weak ass singing-a-long shit. Let me hear you Vienna!' and she started 'Hung Up.'
I must say, the sound was AMAZING! There were no distortions, no echoes. The bass was excellent. I was living the songs. The technical aspect of the show was breathtaking: she has splitting, moving screens, the circular LED screen at the front of the stage that moves around and does great water effects. Hats-off. Never seen anything like that before.
Too bad she only stayed in Vienna for 9 hours (and apparently made $7.5 Million - you do the math). I can't wait until the DVD comes out!
The show was amazing, and there was a feeling of magic in the air. It was the only day that week that it did not rain. The forecast had said 5°C, wind, and pouring rain but there was none of that! It's like the weather stopped just for her! Because the days after it poured down rain. I tell you there was something magical that night.

From Ivan:
Well....I was there....third row but not in the golden circle....well....it was just a very big misunderstanding for audience also for Madonna....I guess she was so confused with no response to the songs that she must did some mistakes.
She was good, trying, but after third section she was....OK....I wanna bring this to the end very fast.
Me as fan was just happy to see her again live, that's all, experince was in the way that you feel first footage on YouTube.
Budva will kick her ass after dead Vienna, Balkan is really something else.

From Michael:
Wow! Where should I begin? First of all this time the front was only accessible for wavebreaker/golden circle ticket holders....GOOD! But the way we got into there was extremly scandalous, non-professional and dangerous. First I was so unlucky to catch a young steward who wasn´t able to scan tickets or to attach the wristband, he was shaking as hell and not able to do anything!
After our tickets got checked we had to wait another 30 min until 5 stewards brought some barrier tape to convoy all of us (!!) about 1 kilometer towards the stage! Everyone was pushing and screaming thankfully no one stumbled cause this would have been fatality! Absolutely overstrained....so everyone was walking in small steps trying not to get hurt.
The show was way better than the one in Berlin and Madonna seemed to have a good but chilly time telling us she had to clap her hands to keep them warm. While Borderline she had some wrong tones here and there but singing Ray Of Light was probably one of Madonna's most embarrassing moments. She was not able to catch one single tone turing the whole song she seemed to be really helpless up on stage! At one point she asked us: 'Am I right?' almost at the end of the song they put a playback on where she had to laugh again....
At the beginning of the next song she bowled her microphone rack down the stage and improvised while they put a new one up.
All in all it was entertaining watching Madonna to be truely human :-) ...but we love you anyway Madonna!
